They draw you into the film and build an emotional, if not moving, link between you and the screen. There are little subtleties in their behavior that you think only you have keyed into. They may not be the main character but often times overshadow the other roles. In short, they're the actors that make you forget you're watching a movie.

I personally think River Phoenix always did a very impressive job with his roles, Even though I've only seen him in a few movies, he always stands out in my mind.



That's him in "My Own Private Idaho". But I first saw him in "Stand by Me" when he was wee lad.

I really love movies with Norman Reedus in them. He's not a very well known actor, but he has several mannerisms that I just can't take my eye off when he's on screen.
I also really liked Leonardo DiCaprio in 'Shutter Island' and 'Inception', he really drew me into the two movies.
Jack Nicholson is another one of my favourite actors, he's so talented! I like Johnny Depp in some movies (POTC, 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas' and 'Blow' all stand out). I really like Jason Segel as well, he just cracks me up! Old Robert De Nero movies are great, as well!

Yes, Leo plays his parts with a lot of enthusiasm. I thought he pulled off Inception really well.

Hear hear! Johnny Depp in Blow is one of my favorite renditions he does - i also loved him in Sweeney Todd (hate musicals by the by) he really draws you in and i love the nuances he brings out in the characters he portrays.

i also love James Franco from Pinapple Express to Milk there isn't anything he makes i don't want to see

well. not exactly. i just think that is acting is way beyond most actors. there has always been depth and strength to characters that he played in movies.

Oh, yes! I love Sweeney Todd! I end up singing songs from it for days after I watch it! It's such a great story and he plays it so well! As does Helena

I am partial to James Franco, as well! My favourite thing he is in is Freaks and Geeks. It's one of the best TV shows I've ever seen! I love a lot of people in that show

That has to be one of my all time favs and I've only seen it once. I finally have the time to download and rewatch.

Its hard to pick one but I would say Johnny Depp...Awesome movies...and no not the PoTC Depp and Charlie and the Choc. Factory..I am talking about Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Blow, Edward Scissorhands, and Donnie Brasco.


The next few are awesome actors though too who are on par with Depp...De Niro, DiCaprio, Edward Norton and Tom Hanks...WILSON!!!!!!

The already mentioned Johnny Depp. It's like you can throw him into any movie and he'll stand straight and in role, and he'll convince you that he's born for that role, and nothing but the role.
The fact that he can pull of those creepy-cool characters like Scissorhands is awesome too. ;3

I don't really have favourite actors in general, rather I have actors who are currently playing their character perfect/near-perfect thanks to their skill and good writers and usually it only applies to the show/movie and doesn't carry over

Jamil Walker Smith (Greer on Universe), Misha Collins (Castiel on Supernatural) and Jim Parsons (Sheldon on Big Bang Theory) are the three actors I think, are playing their characters perfectly so they are currently my favourite actors

That was easily Carrey's best movie..

It remains the one movie that moved to the brink of tears. I think it was the story that I really enjoyed not the actors in particular.
