Well it's Christmas Eve and I'm giggling at how weirded out my boyfriend's family is. We're going to visit my family and have Christmas dinner with them. They don't get why on Christmas EVE, though. I don't know, but we've always celebrated Christmas on Christmas Eve and we open gifts at midnight, technically Christmas Day. Is it just a Hispanic thing? Any around to back me up? Anyway, I get two Christmases and one sooner than the other. Then tomorrow, Christmas Day, I get to do it all over again the "American"" way. My first year doing so.

This is why I never bring my girlfriends to family dinners. Besides my immediate family (mom, step-dad, sister) my family is absolutely crazy. The one time I brought a girl to Christmas dinner, our relationship ended the next day :(

How are things in Australia? Nice and warm I hope? Not the freezing hell that I've returned to? :(

Well it WAS supposed to be 34 and sunny, but i just got up out of bed at 7am and its fukn pouring with rain? WTF? I thought we were supposed to be in Summer FFS! lol Damn you Santa! I blame it all on him ;)

Ouch. Well, I live with my boyfriend, so I know how crazy his family is. Plus, they all expect my family to be loud and talk a lot, 'coz that's what they do. We've had get togethers before, just not for Christmas. :p

Watching basketball, starting at 12:00, ending at ~10:00. We will probably open some gifts at around 11:00am

    Go Heat!

Great! What a Christmas day - it'll be.
Time to embarass Lebron James on a public venue.

I went to see some family today and enjoyed talking about Video Games the entire night with my monkey cousins hanging from me.

Then any spirit I had left for this damned Holiday was ruined when the entire hour long drive home was spent listening to my mother and step-father nitpick and complain about every little thing they hated about the rest of my family.

Fuck, I regret even buying gifts for such ignorant people.

I hear you there. My family is far from perfect, but despite our differences, we love each other. I've ended friendships with people who have criticized the way my family works.
It's okay for us to talk bad about each other, but not for outsiders. :p

They'll never have that book smell. :(

I've just come home from Austria, went skiing for Christmas. Was lovely although very stressful due to weather chaos in the UK last week, spent a lot of time thinking we wouldn't make it.

    Got a watch, it's nice.

    I still have books...
The Kindle is easier for say... reading the 54 books of the Animorphs series without wasting 300 pounds to revisit my childhood.
Or, you know, for on planes, trains and automobiles, where carrying The Complete Narnia Chronicles is somewhat unwieldy.
Or for when I don't want to drop £50 on a textbook I may never even use.

    It's not a book replacement. It's a book augmentation ^_^

Until this very moment I have loathed the idea of a digital book reading thingamajiggy. But now it all makes sense!
    You make everything better!
