What do you guys think is an appropriate age to give it up to? Do a lot of you regret your first time?

I lost mine this year at 19....i thought that was a good age..waited for the right person :p

I disagree with the idea that one has to wait for 'the one' or 'the right person' to have sex. Odds are, the first time won't even be that enjoyable in retrospect. Sure, it will be an emotion laden experience, but how many of us had the best sex of our lives the first time we tried? Exactly.

That being said, I can understand this is going to turn into an e-peen thread.

+1 for that, because I lol'd. I'm surprised it hasn't already taken that turn for the worse.

I think nowadays it's ridiculous how many people have meaningless sex

I think nowadays it's ridiculous how many people try to add meaning to sex. The only verifiable meaning in sex is procreation. Besides that, it's all what you make of it. If I want to fuck a different girl every night, never seeing them again, never forming a long standing relationship, I'm free to do so (providing I can score every night). On the other hand, you're free to wait for 'the right one' and have mediocre sex once a week with him for years until your mind goes numb.

when it comes to virginity wouldn't you rather have it lost to someone whom you at least thought you loved
even if it was some figment created by immaturity

No, I wouldn't. I'd rather I had lost my virginity to a pro, someone experienced at sex, regardless of the presence of love.

for males, one must ejaculate once every three days minimum to keep your testicles healthy.

Really?!?! I'm requesting a source on that one... not that I can disagree from any personal experience. It just sounds vague enough to be urban folklore.

#1. just because you fooled yourself into fake love with someone who wasn't a pro doesn't make that statement any less true ;3

Lol, it's surprising to see that this hasn't already turned into a E-Peen thread.

I don't really see why people attach so much meaning to virginity. Some people may lose their virginity at a young age but may not have sex for a long time after that.
I can understand that the first time is special but honestly - if it's your VERY first time, it's probably not going to be as good as you want it to be.

Virginity... interesting concept... I think that the age in which it is appropriate is completely dependent upon what society you live in... if you live in a society that expects you to start a family and live on your own at 13, then that would be an appropriate age. But, assuming we are speaking of modern western society... Hell, it's still a pretty subjective thing.

I waited with the girl I'm with now for some time... we loved each other... blahblahblah... I certainly don't regret it. At the same time, I think that sex is largely built up to this grand idea and act that some how symbolizes adulthood... Anyone with a penis can insert it somewhere... just like anyone with a vagina can have one inserted into her at any age. It isn't a segway into adulthood, in reality. It isn't a coming of age... (Though it typically comes as you age...)

Yep, there are many people who are independent adults who have not had sex (such as myself, 21 years old), so it's not like it's a requirement to go into adulthood or anything. :p It just deviates from the norm a bit.

I don't really think it's a big deal, so long as you practice it safely and are prepared to deal with the consequences if anything happens. If you're not fulfilling either of these, best not to bother. :/ Nothing really sacred about it, though I guess it's a big deal if you don't know what to expect.

When you have found someone who you really care about, love, and they share the same feelings for you i think it's beautiful, sex is beautiful and yes sex is pleasurable. i think people nowadays abuse that and just use it to feel good and their own pleasure without no feelings or anything. i dont think that's right. i would feel used.

You can always fap. You wouldn't have to feel used by anyone.

    --

I don't think sex is beautiful. I think sex is just sex. It has a purpose, pleasure is a byproduct, you can get the byproduct without fulfilling it's purpose, so it's kind of like a hobby. It's no different than collecting stamps and lining up Barbies and playing Neopets. It's just another activity. I don't even know why it's blown up to such large, life-changing proportions. This prized virginity is really just a membrane anyway.

And as for waiting for a true love...
    "O I love u darling, here's my hymen."

I've been told I look 16ish and Cody is apparently baby faced so here's to hoping youthful appearance is an indicator for a longer life span :p

Or maybe you do look 21 but I assumed you were mid to late 20s and then when I saw you it through me off. Hmm

I think any age over 16 is good. Younger than 16 and I just get legit grossed out. I lost mine a couple weeks after I turned 19. The guy turned out to be a total douchebag, but I don't regret it.

I agree with everything you wrote except sex being sacred. I think that you can make sex a sacred act... look into tantric sex... ;)

Just because you can make it a sacred act, doesn't mean it's inherently sacred.
Which is, I think, what SL was getting at.

I believe sex is fine if its consensual. No right or wrong about it. Even if you lost your virginity, it was entirely your decision. Never regret because at one point of time it was what you wanted.

I lost my at 14 or something like that.
It was to a guy I dated for 2 1/2 years.
    A little young.
    But it doesn't effect me.
I used to really care about the only have sex w/ people you love yada yada yada.

It's not like I go around having sex with everyone, I don't, but I don't think it's that much of a big deal if you have sex with someone who you're not completely head over heals in love with.
    It's just human nature.

    Much better.

It's generally not a good idea to quote someone and then not respond to what you quoted. He asked for a source on ejaculating every 3 days. You gave him a link saying sex is good for the body. Just saying.

if you read the progression correctly from the thread you will see that he asked for a source about my comment about the prostate cancer
not for his statement about needing to jack off three times a day

i usually don't chat much, but your persistence to perceive this situation incorrectly has me a little baffled
