Thought it was an interesting read. I suppose you probably don't have much else to do when you're 98 years old. :p I wonder if they'll actually go along with her, it probably won't be a long term situation.

Haha, I got a good laugh out of that.

That's a pretty impressive letter, given the fact that it was written by a 98 year old woman.
I feel bad for her about getting her check bounced, but when you look at the bank's point of view - they have to maintain policies and not bend it for every slight little mishap. I hate when things are clad in grey and there's no getting out of it without hurting at least one side and possible even both :/

She may be old in age, but she's certainly a clever one.
    My favorite line:
"I regret that it cannot be shorter than 28 digits but, again, I have modelled it on the number of button presses required of me to access my account balance on your phone bank service. As they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery."

I think she should get an award or something for written something like that.

And they say you lose your memory as you get older... Pssshh. Very well written letter and an outstanding example of why old age is nothing to be afraid of (unless you're me and genetics show my old age will have a lot of medical problems).

That's a brilliant letter. I love the closing line: "May I wish you a happy, if ever so slightly less prosperous, New Year".

lol. I love this. Great way to stick it at them.

Unfortunately I don't think it was made by a "96 year old woman." The template can be found here: http://www.snopes.co...nk/takethat.asp

But who cares. Whoever wrote this is a genius :p

Having a fictional plot does not necessarily prevent us from appreciating the sentiment.

I was also disappointed upon seeing the snopes article, but appreciate the excellent writing and humor nonetheless.
