Maybe the TFR plot prizes, especially weapons (if there are).
A lot of things of other plots/events had inflated a lot.

    Retired BD weapons.

But from what I've seen, they inflate very very slowly.
Unless you are talking about investing in high end BD weapons, that is not an viable option for everyone.

I've got a couple Mystery Island Aisha stamps. Nothing else seemed in range...

Ah yeah, the initial investment would have to be 100m+

October 2010 they were at 3.7k, now they're at 7.5-8k. I think they will continue to rise.

But they will still be extremely HTS. So even if you Hoard several hundred, you'd need to sell off a lot of them to break even.

GC/Chan stamps are both low right now due to a few legit/non-legit ones cropping up on old accounts. I'd say save up to buy a few of them (or at least one) and sit on it.

I guess an important follow-up question is: what retired things are ETS?

Pretty much none. Even Mystery Island Aisha Stamp atm is tough to sell. Book of Pain has plumaged in price after peaking at 10 mil (I've seen them for 500k).

Meowclops is probably the only semi-ets retired item.

I guess it depends on the item too. I've seen some retired items that held no value and they weren't even advent calender items.

But it's because they are useless, ugly and/or with insane quantity on neopets.
These kind of investments are for avatar items, battledome weapons, single use or really rare retired items.

Go all out this plot and massively stock whatever is good. I suspect there will probably most likely be a background and book for this plot. Maybe a stamp if were lucky. I don't see them making any bd weapon this time around.

No ,i mean you can invest HT items you can still buy them in HT,like S-pot ,SOS

they may retire in few years

but there is a risk that TNT never make them retire

Don't forget they have to be GOOD ht items. FQD, for example, isn't exactly a great investment.
