Poor mans dota

Made the mistake of taking smite, it was fucking useless

had no idea wtf the enemies abilities were or my allies abilities

no denying sucks

thank god for recommended items

do chickens/scroll of tp exist?
can you ever own more than 6 items? (like be able to drop items? otherwise recipes are a bitch to make)

players were really friendly and helpful though. I guess because everyone was feeding for the first half the game except me (thank god someone told me the key to press to unstuck the camera from your hero)

where the eff do runes spawn

can you random your hero?

getting runes adds another layer of strategy but I don't like em. I think residual bonuses shouldn't exist.

is there any command like -cs that shows how many creep kills you have?

fading chat is annoying

microtransactions are stupid (but at least they keep the game free)

Okay so I'm new to LoL as well so I hope all my information is correct xD

Haha the hardest part is not knowing the enemies / items. You don't whether to fight or run, and which items counter which items/champions/abilities xD You'll learn in time

I don't believe you can own more than 6 items, but Lol is a game that's supposed to be much shorter than DotA, so you usually just go for items you need and don't get those intermediate items like in DotA

No chickens or scrolls, but you have the ability recall which takes you back to the ... thing (fountain in DotA) and an ability (teleport) which acts like a scroll of TP.

Yeah smite sucks I go with heal and exhaust/ghost

Yes you can random your hero. I believe the bottom left has a question mark = random.

Not sure if you know, but the way that hero selection works is that every week, a few champions are "Free" while the rest can be accessed through IP (earned by playing) or the in-game currency (bought with USD). Thus the free heroes will be the most common champions you will see, I"d recommend reading up on their abilities.

I hate the fact that i'm tempted to buy skins for my champions, which can only be purchased with real money. Bah

I actually don't mind the limited hero selection, keeps me wanting to play so I can buy the ones i like I also like the leveling system because I also gain stuff, unlike DotA where you win and then... oh well

and you don't get penalized like in HoN (you still get IP and XP)

It's intended for junglers. If you try to jungle without smite, at least one person will comment on it.

Nope, you can only sell/build into new items.

You got very lucky with the players. Typically until you have played 600+ games, everyone either rages or is shit (or both).

They disabled the question mark in champ select, but if you straight lock-in it randoms.

The score tab shows your cs. Alt tab has more info.

I can't remember, but this might be remedied in settings.

That nly affects you for the first 10-20 games or so. Then you should be able to afford your first 1350 champ. From there find a 3150 you like on a free week and buy them as a fallback to when you finish testing all the free champs. When you get a few hundred wins over lvl 30, you'll start to wonder how you ever ran out of ip.

First one was team of horribads, I was like the only one getting kills (on my own) and naturally a feeder blames me

Mean that the servers are down? Would explain the 800 ping. How long does downtime last for?

Playing DotA REALLY Helps learn the game Sorta like "oh... there are three champions there... maybe I shouldn't run in head first"

I just played a /v/ vs /v/ practice game with some of my old teammates. They are just as bad as ever and let me go 5/0/26 as aurawhore taric. And yeah the server is having issues. Pvp.net does that quite frequently.

Also, don't worry about KDA ratios. All that will get you down the line is negatively weighing a game-winning situation based on how your personal score is. If you ever play a tank, you will learn in competitive high-rank games how badly your score can be and still be the most valuable member of the team.

Same man. What I liked about hon/dota is you can play a few time with each of the champions and then you'll memorize their skills, whereas with LoL you don't have that option

We all think they do the weekly rotation to give people an incentive to buy champions or the champion pack. "You want a free game? Well, grind for about 600 games until you can have your champion selection and multiple rune sets to be competetive."

I've only ever had one sort of ping issue with pvp.net, and that was a problem where everyone was freezing for several seconds despite all of our pings being in the green.

Ignoring everything anyone else said. Here you go

1)Not the games fault. Smite is for people who take the jungle path.
2)Not the games fault. You can view all champions on the website and in the game client. Inside the game, it has tooltips which say exactly what your supposed to use for abilities. Did you even bother playing the tutorial?
3)Be Gangplank. Denying ruins the game man.
4)They actually suck. Once you learn items, you can build better
5)Never heard of chicken. You can get the summoner ability teleport if you want.
6)You dont have to "buy a reciepe" in here. You can directly upgrade to the last item in the shop, without having to buy all of the items as long as you have gold.
7)Should have played the tutorial silly.
8)Runes do not "spawn" runes are an out of game mechanic. You can visit the store and purchase it using IP (Gained after every game.) so no one can buy power
9)Yes
10)One you get used to the game, you will like Runes and Masteries. They allow you to properly develop your champion different then others. Otherwise every single character would be 90% the same, except for whoever gets an item first wins first? Boooring.
11)Press TAB in game and PLAY THE TUTORIAL
12)Turn it off then, go to options
13)You mean the ability to buy champions, or skins? The game is designed so no one can be better then you at the game, simply because they paid more money then you. I like that idea, and love that its free.
14)Play more games, and you can get more champions. I agree they need more, but they have a lot as it is.

Runes in dota/hon are like random powerups that spawn every 2 minutes in one of 2 random spots in the river that cuts the lanes in half and they'd give like double damage for 45 seconds or invisibility for 45 seconds or something like that
Encouraged ganking. Not these persistent +40hp items

I think they removed denying because they want to emphasize an aggressive game but then again they removed runes which makes ganking harder

They replaced Runes with Jungle mobs that give you bonus's. Golem gives you more mana/mp5 and red gives you a slow + extra damage (To help casters and dps seperately). Dragon gives gold to everyone. they nerfed jungle hard, which sucks.

And Baron gives you a shitfuck ton of stuff

new game came out called bloodline champions. its kinda like dota and lol but there isn't levels. it reminds me of mini games. would recommend you try it out though!

Did they really? Well, I guess it makes sense after the big nerf to red buff. I really don't like the more recent changes. Ever since they started to phase out healing altogether, I've been disappointed with every patch. The worst for me were the Morde changes. I loved old Morde in my normal elo and when I was in 13/14/15XX ranked, but now I just can't get into him. They made him a shitty melee caster with no CC instead of the dps meatshield that purposely didn't have CC.
