I love the small town vibe. I've got a supermarket a 5 minute drive away, and I don't mind driving to the college or to hang out with friends.

For a few years I lived in a small town on the country side. It was fun at the time, but I realized how bored I was most of the time. I don't really care if everyone on the street can recognize me and say hello. It doesn't really matter. I have friends who know EVERYONE from school and its irritating to walk down the hall with them. You'll get nowhere because they'll constantly be stopped for hugs and shit. I like it in Toronto where everyone is in a rush, and no one really bothers to give you the time of day. I prefer to be left alone when I'm on the subway and such, but a small town wouldn't have subway anyways.

I like all the perks that come with living in a big city. Someone also mentioned that those in a small town would be less accepting which is true, in my opinion. In a big city you have a wide variety of people, and no one is so quick to judge anymore unless you're in a ghetto area.

I think living a simple life in a small village should be nice! People living in rural places don't care much about appearances and studying. Life in big cities can't be any harder...

Just talking about the whole eye-contact thing in specifics: I think it also has to do a lot with where you're from. As someone who's lived in Seattle for quite some time, I know that making small-talk with strangers isn't something that odd. But I think in larger cities (Seattle is sort of mid-sized, I guess), there's much less privacy in everyone's daily routine so most people prefer to keep to themselves.

Big city is better ... well there are more stuff and services available. Don't know about small towns though, never lived in one.

I live in a small town, but we are close to some big cities so I don't mind driving over there to do the fun stuff. But small towns are the best! I live one block from the grocery store and 1 block from my job. I save os much on gas, lol. And I know almost everyone here, but our town is getting pretty big so it's hard to keep up. Our town is very connected and blended with all the small towns around here, that you could say we've grown into a big city. :x

Ah I'm not so sure if this is small but my town is about 70,846 people. Small Cities are more friendly, and warmer IMO compared to big cities. But many people around my age always complain about how there is nothing to do but to get wasted every weekend. But Philly is only about 20 mins away (: But I rather be in a small town. More competitive in the local sports, and its nice to know everyone around here (: whether they know it or not lol

i live in a city big? no so sure but its in england :p
Its quite easy to get around for cheap and all but also easy to get lost if you dont know where you are going. Then again people are always around for directions i actually find towns quite depressing because its always still and nobody around :o

I live 20 minutes away from Philadelphia (Center City, more specifically) as well.

Unfortunately, aside from going to Philly*, there isn't much to do where I live and the neighbors hate my family. Due to that, I think I'd rather live in a city if it weren't for the generally-higher crime rates. Plus I don't know if I'll ever be able to drive due to my almost-random spacing out.

*As my dad says, "If my car isn't welcome, I'm not welcome." This is in reference to the $20 parking fee that garages love to charge.

Small Town with access to the big city xD Personally, I think the big city can lead to many other undesired things >.>

I've lived in Tokyo and Los Angeles for the entirety of my life, so I can't even IMAGINE what a small town is like.

It's good when you're pretending to listen to people, at least.
