Yeeeahh. By the way, question about pipes. Do you waste much more weed than on a joint?

Hit up your local head shop and find yourself a good set of high quality pot needles. By far the BEST way to get high.

You can thank me later.

Pot vs. Pipe vs. Joint

Discuss.

I'm not sure what you mean by pot since you're not referring to the weed itself.

Anyway, you'd waste a hell of a lot more weed smoking a joint than you would with a pipe or a bong.

Bongs are, by far, my favorite smoking device. Water filters out ash and solid particles from the smoke, making the hits smoother.

If I had to choose between dry pipes and paper, though, I'd still go with a pipe.

Edit: I am planning on getting a vaporizer soon. We'll see how that goes.

What do you mean? Are you talking about hot knives/something similar?

I tried smoking weed a couple of times but never managed to get high.
And yes, of course I used high quality and quite strong weed :)

But I don't respond so well to medicine etc, so maybe my body is just weird.

Not trying to sound like an "ass", but are you inhaling it correctly?
Most people never smoked in their life so they mistakenly suck it in, instead of inhaling.
Then hold it in your lungs as long as you can... your body isn't weird, your most likely doing it wrong. :lookaround:

Holding it in longer doesn't get you any higher as your body can only absorb so much THC per respiratory circle. + 1 for science.

Have any of you read up on the recent findings that link marijuana use to psychotic disorders? Pretty interesting stuff.

I personally only smoke pot a few times a year, not really my thing.

It's tradition.

Aww, Retardo...lol. Sometimes it takes me months to come up with suitable names for my pieces. Some of them never ended up with names before they met their untimely deaths.

I recently made a ridiculously inclusive list of the names of every single (non DIY) pipe, bong, bubbler, etc. my boyfriend and I have ever owned (I probably forgot a couple).

Spoiler

Matt was responsible for naming the majority of them.

There has been literature published for years on the correlation between heavy marijuana usage and psychosis - that's not even up for debate in the medical community at this point. What the interesting issue is, currently, is whether or not that correlation is causal in terms of the THC causing the psychosis or people who are pre-disposed to psychotic behaviours are more likely to self-medicate via cannabis use.

The most recent studies are suggesting that marijuana can actually CAUSE the psychosis. Which is pretty neat.

Essentially what they found is this: "Dutch researchers followed nearly 2,000 people ages 14 to 24 for a decade, and found that those whose marijuana use began during the study period were about two times more likely to develop psychotic symptoms—like hallucinations and delusions—than those who abstained."

I'd link you the actual study, but it was only released on March 1st in BMJ so you need to pay for access.

I'm up for some psychosis... I've actually had trips that gave me a massive DMT/LSD flashback, so I wouldn't think those studies are far off the mark.

Thanks for the links - if that's the case, why do you think so many people still smoke even though it causes phsychotoic symptoms sometimes?

I used to smoke from the first thing in the morning to the last thing at night. Lately I've only been smoking at night to help me sleep, otherwise I don't smoke much during the day unless I'm really bored or going to do something interesting.

I've read pretty much of the articles and let me tell you, as a common marijuana user that these facts are somehow true. The fact that Marijuana CAUSES Psychosis is totally false. I'd rather say that it increases the risk on the people who are already propense to the disease, but will not make someone who is not propense, to be. Still, life with it's turns, with it's ups and downs may get you psycho without even smoking the plant.
