Hi im a new member and im trying to contribute to the forums so i can not only be a friendly person on neocodex but also so i can slowly move towards a advanced membership via 500 posts.
My question is the difference between the active posts on the member screen and normal posts shown by the username in the post

I have that question as well because I see a difference in some people'c counts

I think that the posts in the chit chat section/spam section/deleted spam don't contribute to your total post counts but it adds to the one on your profile

There are Forums that will not record your post count. I think the Introductions section, and the Chit-Chat section are two of them.

The post count on your profile includes posts in sections like these, and the post count next to your name is the one you're most likely looking for, it lists only those posts that are contributing to your 500.


I'm probably wrong about the Intro, and Chit-Chat sections, but someone here will know the exact ones.

o ok because ive done like 25 more on my profile view so i was wondering which one counted for adv. member the profile or the one by your posts.

Chit-Chat and welcome topics do not count towards postcount so when you copied and pasted the same message 25 times in the intro topic, it doesn't actually count towards your total.

With all that said, it doesn't mean you should go digging up a bunch of topics that'll increase your post count just to say "thank you" or something useless.
Please put some thought into your posts, your name is giving me a headache.

It will be automatic, but if you're going to do it this way, we won't let you reach it at all.
