It's not the first time Neopets has tried reaching out to Facebook - they've previously released special codes for people who like them on FB to use. I think they might also be trying to compete with Farmville and promote NC cards, which seem to be sold in similar places.
ooooo

I don't blame them for it. Connecting themselves with facebooks is a great idea on their part...

I think this is the scenario TNT is dreaming of:
Rich, 16 year old girl who spends a ton of money on NC & loves dressing up her Neopets "Likes" it on her facebook.
All of her friends see it & sign up for Neopets. They, in turn, spend a ton of money & "Like" it on their facebook, too.
Neopets spread like wildfire through the rich, 16 year old girl population.
Profit.
AM I the only one who read this and thought "Justin Bieber"?

I think the problem with this new idea is... - People old enough to use Facebook won`t be telling their friends they play neopets - The people(kids) that want to like neopets on Facebook aren`t old enough to use it, lol
Minimum age for Facebook is 13... and I've known of quite a few examples where people have circumvented age restrictions to be part of something they want to be part of.
If it's happened for THIS SITE... it is almost guaranteed to have happened with Facebook.

It's happened, most of my younger family members have done it, with hilarious results when their accounts get disabled when they spill the beans on the site.Minimum age for Facebook is 13... and I've known of quite a few examples where people have circumvented age restrictions to be part of something they want to be part of.

Really? FB disables your account when they find you're under the age requiroment? How? Do they stalk you and read your pages? o.O

remember the Conan prediction that by the end of the decade "YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook will all merge into one site, called 'YouTwitFace!'"?
Ditto.
The funny thing is, after Facebook, some other site will become popular after some time, and this whole integration thing will be pointless.
Just like over time at first mySpace was popular, then Facebook, now Twitter, whats next, myFacialTweet?

Mark Zuckerberg said one of his hobbies is predicting when couples will break up, based on their profile browsing habits. He probably knocks himself out too with all the drunken pics kids upload. As it is, fb said once it's up, they can use it however they want. I wouldn't put it past them to do a search for all the underage comments "teehee i'm rly only 11, bt i styl made a payge"

Where did he say that? I'm not doubting you, I'm just curious to read what else he said along these lines. I guess we all knew it was happening, but how creepy to think about that doucher creeping on our pages.

I have a 9 yr old cousin whose mom wrote on her wall "your age is wrong!"... to which her dad replied "she did it on purpose!" She's still around on FB 6 months later... but I guess they never explicitly said what her age was.
