His hobbies include raising African moths and sewing gowns made from the skins of fat chicks.

To be honest, No. I'd never want to use one of those sites, not because that it's bad or nothing, just the risk of my personal information getting out.

What kind of personal information getting out?

My suggestion is just to limit what you put on there, no need to put your whole life in the about you section, just tidbits.

    -is curious about your hobbies-

Girls are generally disgusted with guys that have any "obscure" interest, mine being gaming on anything but an iPod, or any interest in anime at all.

What's funny is at first I seem like a normal guy, then they find out about my interests and just distance themselves periodically later on.

Although tempting, I don't like Moths eating my clothes.

The minute he mentions Weird Al, they all slowly back out of the room. :(

I wear my White and Nerdy hoodie at work when it gets cold and the janitor starts acting all "gangsta" around me for some reason.

Then another co-worker bought me "Nerds" because the hoodie makes me nerdy, I was very confused when this happened.

Wish I could find the site again, someone did some data analysis and basicly the numbers were inflated and most people can't respond without suscribing.

I think it concluded that even though a few people get married you had better chances not using an online dating site.

*think it was written by blog.okcupid.com
anyway theres lots of analysis on there that you might find interesting :)

Lol, I would neveerrrr use online dating sites.
Though I've met my current boyfriend on the internet, we had no intentions to start dating or whatever.

Hell no. I don't even want to talk to the people I already know, much less some loser who had to fill out a form of their interests to get attention.

I do know someone who met his current fiance on Plenty Of Fish. They are apparently happy, because YAY he's finally getting laid, and YAY she doesn't have to get a job because she has some dumbshit loser she met on Plenty Of Fish working two jobs to support the both of them. Works out great.

Lol, you're talking to people here aren't you? It's the same thing as using a dating site, you talk to people you don't know.
Plenty of fish makes like $10k or more a month on adsense, so of course, he won't have to work.

I'm not sure if I would, but my sister met her fiancee through CraigsList. Too bad he's almost twice her age (my sister is 25 or 26 years old) and is just now completing his residency to become a dermatologist. Mom and dad aren't too keen on him, but at least he's a nice person.

I have only (formally) dated one man... ( ゚,_ゝ゚)

    numbers mean nothing~~~

3 great loves are much better than 20 meaningless relationships~~

maybe these three relationships lasted long time~~

What a sweet and thoughtful (and true) reply, SailorMoon. I've dated a lot of guys for a couple of weeks/months at a time in the past, but I've been with my current boyfriend for almost 4 years now and it's been 100% different than any previous relationships since the beginning. Meaningful relationships ftw.

Nope. My dad uses them so sometimes I think it would be funny to set one up and just see his face!
But apparently most of the people you meet on free ones aren't that good or nice...
He met his girlfriend right now on them though. She's pretty nice, so if you find the right one etc then it'd be okay.

Don't see why you would pay for it though.

Yeah Okcupid.com is usually the one I hear about in college. Seems like a good way to hook up if your single. I usually meet girls through friends of friends, fast track past the creepy/trust barrier. That's how I met my previous ex's and my current
    girlfriend of 2 years.

From past experiences, Myspace.. is just filled with creepy lonely guys that send mass mails of "wanna hook up?/ you look hot" (My friend used to do this and is how he met his gf - no joke). Not that Facebook is any better, but at least its filtered and a good way to meet friends or friends. Craiglist.. I admit, the fastest way to get laid but probably has the highest risk of STDs. One night stands are pretty common there, but I would never date any of the ones I met. Plus, you never know if the person you meet is some psycho medical student that's going to rob you at gun point. That massage did not end in a happy ending... (referring to the craiglist killer).
