I personally actually liked the status updates with buying/selling stuff. It is a lot easier than to open a topic (which you don't know the content of) and contact people through PM. It's also a nice, quick overlook of people looking for stuff who are too lazy to visit every selling topic. However at the other side I can understand why it would be annoying, especially for those that don't trade much.

You should really make a rule like 1 once a day a regular member can post an Ad and an Advanced can only 3 times a day.

If we put a hard limit of 3 instead of focusing on the 10 people who are doing this, spam would increase as people who don't normally spam will start, as they now feel entitled to their 3 a day.
