Wow, this is barely readable. It is mindless rambling.
It reminds me of this anonymous letter we received at work last week that told us we are all cannibals because our medications are made from cadavers. It also had a time-line along the top that included Hitler 1939, and the Union of Pharmacists 2029. That's right. The time-line included the FUTURE. It was written on dirty paper in the careless chicken scratch of a psychopath.

I tell you: That letter made more sense and had more focus than the article above.

I just needed to get that out there. As for the topic at hand, whatever it might be, I wouldn't say it's government that is a lost cause. It's the population as a whole. I'll bet there's hundreds of people who can make sense of this article in their scattered brains and think to themselves "YEAH! It's all a scam against me!" and link arms together to fight 'the man' because the war on drugs is actually only there to distract us from the fact that our medicines are made from cadavers!!!

Fucking stupid. That is why everything is a lost cause. Because everyone is SO. FUCKING. STUPID.

    This exactly.

It would be awfully hypocritical of me to say America is a lost cause when I continue to live here by choice, so instead I'll just say that I think every generation goes through this. Older people look back at the WWII era and think "oh we were such a great and productive society back then and things have gone downhill and we're doooooooomed" etc etc etc, but at that time there were older people thinking the exact same thing. Most people are afraid of change and when they can't actively predict where things are going, they tend to think we're fucked when that actually may or may not be the case.

As terribly presented as that argument was, I agree with most of it. The thing to remember is that the government isn't the only enemy. The CEOs of big buisness shit into the government's mouth, which shits into the media's mouth, and the media vomits this redigested crap all over the plate of the people. The free market is in place, the poor will get poorer, the only answer is revolution. Know what sparked the revolution in Egypt? Rising food costs, extreme class inequality, and the government not representing the needs and desires of the people... That is one hell of a parallel, the only difference being that a lot American's are too fat brainwashed and stupid to know or care whats actually going on.

Oh conspiracy theorists. You're so cute.

Sorry to be a wet blanket, but I was on the debating team when I was getting my first degree a few years ago - arguments like the one above are totally useless. It's nothing more than empty conjecture. Anyone can have an opinion, but the only opinions worthy of serious consideration are those backed up with factual evidence, which this rant is sorely lacking.

I would like to point out, though, that while the "war on drugs" has been woefully ineffective and a serious economic drain, the government has reason to try and curtail drug use. There's not a medical body anywhere in the world that will disagree with the notion that most recreational drugs are detrimental to most people - be the determent short or long term. I don't give a shit what anyone puts into their bodies - but don't pretend that taking ecstasy on the weekends or smoking a few joints after work has no physiological effects.

You know what else is awesome? When people use big words they don't understand to try and seem more intelligent. The line in there that says: "We as a society are concurrently stuck to be....." That's awesome.

Selling cocaine cut with drain cleaner is hardly "dumb shit".

Sending some kid who got caught with a few grams of pot to jail is ridiculous.

However. I don't know what the FUCK kind of dumbass cuts their coke w/ drain cleaner.
There are not always good cuts in cocaine, but thats the price you pay when you decide to do a drug.....

I've worked as a nurse for several years in both the ER and critical care. I've seen all kinds of people hospitalized from various drug-related issues. People do cut their shitty drugs with terrible things, like comet, and most frequently they sell such things to kids too stupid to know the difference. Guess what coke + comet can cause? Brain damage.
Hell, I've seen people hospitalized with severe respiratory failure because of the chemicals their pot was coated in.

Drugs are not innocuous. Certainly the "war on drugs" is over-hyped and half-fabricated, but that doesn't mean that most illegal substances aren't illegal for a reason.

America has survived for 200 years and nothing has changed.

    Nothing will change.

    Life goes on.

If they do what you "claim" they do. We will never know.
If they dont do what you "claim" they do. We will never know.

There is a reason why the government has power. To do what no one wants to do.

I find it laughable that Big Business is blamed for alot of problems. While I'm the first to recognize corruption and scandal in business, the problem pulls back onto one thing, and that is our educational system. We are emphasizing more on the ability to add and subtract complex numbers, as well as dissect a novel and write an essay about it, than we are with developing social skills and learning about how life outside these walls work. Understand this. Big Business owners are not responsible for your problems. It is a mockery of this nation that we turn around, lay deposits of opinions on those with more power or social status than us, and we portray them negatively, because we did not, as a nation, care as much about business than these corporates did at a young age. I'm talking about the people with real money who worked really hard to get where they were. Most of us are under the impression that these people are horrible, and then extol the virtues of honest work, yet when given the chance, we will turn on anyone for a quick buck. I say most because there are a few who wholeheartedly believe in the virtue of mankind. but those people will be the outlier

I will put it in to a highshool example to make my point a tad clearer:

You are the typical high school kid. The corporates are the smart, A+ students. These students are shunned by alot of people, but are highly successful. They work hard every day, and succeed. You, on the other hand, go to parties, fuck around in school, and ultimatley don't have any view of your future. So when the finals start to come around, and you are averaging a D in most classes, you panick. You instantly attempt to plead with a smart student to help you, that its the right thing to do. He does, but then after, you find yourself asking him to do your homework. He replies with a no, so you in turn start making gossip and tell everyone lies in an attempt to make his final few days as bad as possible. So who deserves sympathy, you or him? Who is in the right, you or him?

We, as Americans, need to stop blaming the government for our problems. We need to stop blaming the big business owners for our problems. There are a select few people who have rightly been screwed over, but that is the unfortunate consequence of society. Some people just aren't going to make it, that is the reality of the situation. What America needs to do is to change our educational system and specialize it more to fit people's personal interest. It may cost more, but the value recieved would be ten-fold. We also need to look inwards. When I make an exchange in the stock market, and i lose money, i realize that if i had done more research, i may have seen the problem that caused drop in market. I dont blame the business for its failure, because i put my money out and made a risk, and that is where it becomes solely my fault if they make a mistake. And occasionally, the market just gets falsely inflated, or deflated, and that happens in life too, and i don't blame anyone, because im not at fault, nor is anyone else.

But the concept that someone is going to give you hand outs because you criticize them relentlessly to be kinder is an outdated notion. If you want something better for life, go the fuck out and work towards it. My father immigrated here from Italy when he was 6. He grew up poor, but he learned to fluently speak english in 6 months. He is incredibly smart, but fucked around in high school. He then took up tile working, and became proficient at it because he works hard and doesn't blame others, and instead corrects his own mistakes, and learns from them. He became what i consider "Great". To this day, he occasionally gets calls from rich former clients seeing if he wants to do some more work for them. We are financially set now, so he declines, but the calls still come every once in a while. Regardless, he started working for a big business (will leave name out) as a floor repairman, although he primarily just laid tile for the company in newer buildings, or replaced it. He learned new trades as well, and soon he was doing more an more jobs. He then was given the job of supervising the work, because he learned so many trades that he knew most of them well enough to be able to see how well others were working and correct them. meanwhile he learned from his superiors, and worked his way up the ladder. he now is Director of Buildings and Grounds for a major corporation, and is making well over half a million dollars a year. He attended college for the first time when he was 41, and he is now 46. He is the success story because he always searched for a way to succeed, not to blame others for his misfortune

Well, lets state some facts. DMT is illegal. DMT is also produced by most living things. You dose yourself with DMT every night. Is there a reason its illegal besides "Durrr its against the law"? Be sure to stay in your little box. Its dangerous outside.

    Spoiler

All I heard was a bunch of hypothetical reasoning that doesn't apply. Many of the scumbags in power were simply born into it, its not easy for the average man to buy his way in, as I've stated, the free market is already in place. Need proof? Drive down the street. K-Mart, K-Mart, WalMart, McDonalds, WalMart, K-Mart, McDonalds, WalMart. The government is in the pocket of big buisness and no longer represents the needs of the average person. If every government official and business CEO was decapitated in the street, would they be your martyrs or your criminals?

You really can't understand the difference between chemicals naturally occurring within our bodies during cell metabolism and then being passed from the body as waste and taking the same chemical from plants in far larger quantities and adding it to your body for no describable purpose(other than to TRIP BAWLS)?

You know what else your body makes, brah? Insulin. So, following your line of reasoning, you should be able to go out and get yourself some insulin and inject yourself with it. Be sure to let me know how that turns out - I'm sure it'll be cool, after all, you're dosing yourself with the insulin your pancreas makes almost constantly.
(And yes. plants can produce insulin)

I've smoked large quantities of pot, I've used my share of psychedelics. I'm just not stupid enough to pretend that doing such things - especially long term - isn't detrimental to my body. Homeostasis - look into it.

Thats a really strong argument, except for the fact that DMT is released into your brain nightly with no detriment at all. Read: Your dreams are your mind, as you so eloquently put it TRIPPUNBAWLZWHOA! So, to swing your fathead back onto the topic again, why is this drug illegal? A 2 year degree doesn't make you a medical expert brah, it apparently also impairs you from following the simple argument that *gasp* the government doesn't have your best interests at heart.

I'm sure I'll end up with another slightly-applicable rant in response, but heres to hoping!
