Thats a really strong argument, except for the fact that DMT is released into your brain nightly with no detriment at all. Read: Your dreams are your mind, as you so eloquently put it TRIPPUNBAWLZWHOA! So, to swing your fathead back onto the topic again, why is this drug illegal? A 2 year degree doesn't make you a medical expert brah, it apparently also impairs you from following the simple argument that *gasp* the government doesn't have your best interests at heart.

I'm sure I'll end up with another slightly-applicable rant in response, but heres to hoping!

I'm not seeing anything on Google scholar linking DMT to dreams, but I'd be glad to read about it if you have some credible sources discussing this. All Wikipedia states is that DMTs link to dreaming is speculative. " A biochemical mechanism for this was proposed by the medical researcher J. C. Callaway, who suggested in 1988 that DMT might be connected with visual dream phenomena: brain DMT levels would be periodically elevated to induce visual dreaming and possibly other natural states of mind."

Could you explain how my "rant" on insulin isn't applicable? Insulin, DMT and hydrochloric acid are all synthesized and used by the human body. Would you add additional amounts of insulin or hydrochloric acid to your body? Would you expect there to be no consequences to doing so?

I don't have a 2 year degree. I have a 4 year degree in biology and a 4 year degree in nursing. It doesn't make me an expert, but it means I have a better understanding of the human body than you can get from reading articles on the internet.

I also don't think that the government has my best interests at heart, either. The government has the interests of its economy at heart - and large companies do more for the economy than any single citizen ever could.

You seem to be misunderstanding the basis of my entire stance - I have no moral objection to drugs. You can smoke, snort or shoot anything you'd like into that body of yours. I just think it's ignorant to claim that ingesting these substances has no negative effects on your body.

    What do you think?

I put this in debate because I'm sure people are going to debate this :p

I think it's horribly written, but it hits home on a few points.

Wow, this is barely readable. It is mindless rambling.
It reminds me of this anonymous letter we received at work last week that told us we are all cannibals because our medications are made from cadavers. It also had a time-line along the top that included Hitler 1939, and the Union of Pharmacists 2029. That's right. The time-line included the FUTURE. It was written on dirty paper in the careless chicken scratch of a psychopath.

I tell you: That letter made more sense and had more focus than the article above.

I just needed to get that out there. As for the topic at hand, whatever it might be, I wouldn't say it's government that is a lost cause. It's the population as a whole. I'll bet there's hundreds of people who can make sense of this article in their scattered brains and think to themselves "YEAH! It's all a scam against me!" and link arms together to fight 'the man' because the war on drugs is actually only there to distract us from the fact that our medicines are made from cadavers!!!

Fucking stupid. That is why everything is a lost cause. Because everyone is SO. FUCKING. STUPID.

You get some weird ass mail...

    ANYWAY,

The population is pretty stupid. American schools are falling in standards compared to Europe and Asia. The empire falls when Nero's example is hedonism. The media teaches kids to love violence and pop music.

As to drugs, it would solve everyone's problem if the right-wingers would be in favor of the free-market LIKE THEY SAY THEY ARE and legalize lower scheduled drugs for recreational use. If you sterilize it, mass produce it, regulate its production and quality, disperse, distribute, advertise and retail it - you've got a new industry. Great for getting you out of a recession. Just look at silicon valley in the 60s, or the dot commers from like 91 on. Did computers or the internet REALLY save us that much time? I'm guessing a great deal of computers are used if not primarily at least secondarily for surfing, youtubing, and generally being unproductive. None of it is good for you - but it sold.

Is America is a lost cause?

Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

    You said it my friend.

As terribly presented as that argument was, I agree with most of it. The thing to remember is that the government isn't the only enemy. The CEOs of big buisness shit into the government's mouth, which shits into the media's mouth, and the media vomits this redigested crap all over the plate of the people. The free market is in place, the poor will get poorer, the only answer is revolution. Know what sparked the revolution in Egypt? Rising food costs, extreme class inequality, and the government not representing the needs and desires of the people... That is one hell of a parallel, the only difference being that a lot American's are too fat brainwashed and stupid to know or care whats actually going on.

I agree, there is a parallel, but I for one wanted to see Egypt do what it needed to do on it's own. Self-organization is the best organization. The President was scared to intervene in Egypt for fear the populace would empathize with the other side. America still has two wounds, two holes we're throwing men and women into. War is a touchy subject with my peer group. Peace and love, baby. Revolution, well, you know we all want to change the world. But when you talk about destruction. Don't you know that you can count me out.

The only thing that the war on drugs has done is put a whole shit ton of people in jail and cost us ridiculous amounts of tax dollars to keep them there for some dumb shit.

And put a shit ton of tax dollars in multi-national defense conglomerate's pockets. Every American soldier has a rifle, which uses ammunition. He travels in a hum-v, APC, or even a tank or plane. Each of those costs an inflated, no-contest contracted price. Each has millions of kickbacks attached. Bet you didn't know this about the F-22 Raptor:

F-22 production was split up over many subcontractors across 46 states in an apparent strategy to increase congressional support for the program.[19][20] The way the production was split up, and the number of new technologies used may have led to increased costs and production delays.[21] Many essential capabilities were deferred to post-service upgrades, which reduced the initial cost, but increased the total project cost.[22] Each F-22 required "1,000 subcontractors and suppliers and 95,000 workers" to build it.

They know what they are doing. Military-industrial complex is a fancy name for defense and arms makers. They're more of a cartel than Pablo Escabar's Medellin business. Sure, Ochoa and Escabar made money selling drugs, but to do what? Stash the cash in Switzerland or Panama? Defense contractors get to live right here in America, enjoy our standard of living, and sell us products that we don't need.

I've worked as a nurse for several years in both the ER and critical care. I've seen all kinds of people hospitalized from various drug-related issues. People do cut their shitty drugs with terrible things, like comet, and most frequently they sell such things to kids too stupid to know the difference. Guess what coke + comet can cause? Brain damage.
Hell, I've seen people hospitalized with severe respiratory failure because of the chemicals their pot was coated in.

Drugs are not innocuous. Certainly the "war on drugs" is over-hyped and half-fabricated, but that doesn't mean that most illegal substances aren't illegal for a reason.

If your main issue is purity, why not legalize? Clean, regulated recreational drugs means less illicit business, more happiness, and safer experiences!

But I understand your sentiment. I don't do powders of any kind. All you have to go on is someone's word, unless you have access to a lab for testing, which most people don't. That kind of risk isn't for me.

As to the huge fucking rant up top, the only part that was salient enough for me to semi agree with is this:

It's not because the earth can't provide enough resources for it's peoples [sic] to live decently by [sic], it's because those that retain wealth carry social interest which provides/retains power.

Replace 'social interest' with sphere of influence and you have a decent point. Wealth generates wealth. The wealth of one man is nothing - investments must be made from many men's wealth to see a decent return. In the stock market it's called leverage. In Life, it's called networking.

But insulin and hydrochloric acid aren't created and used in the brain, hence my failure to comprehend the relationship. I'm really trying hard not to derail this thread....Posted Image

I despise anyone who think pandering to big buisness is the way to economic enlightenment, or maybe I'm naive for thinking a government should be run by all of its people, not just the ones making $250k a year.

I never said drugs didn't have any repercussion, I said there is no reason that they're illegal. Cigarettes and alcohol cause more detriment than most illegal substances. Our stances aren't that different, and I hope you'll note that my more personal gut-shot posts are made during the afternoon... I'm much more amicable at night.

Also, Frank12, I did respond to your wall of text... I just put it in a spoiler because, well, its a wall of text.
