I started this dream off in a dark narrow hallway with loads of doors. I had the immediate sense I was not supposed to be here at all, as if it wasnt my house and I broke in or something, so I decided to explore. I walked down this hallway for quite some time before I came to a section with many doors. most of the doors were this pale old wood, but there were a few which were like BRIGHT silver, inside of these silver doors, I would either find a impenetrable black darkness. This darkness could not be moved. So I would continue down this long hallway. eventually I came to a giant open room, with a diningroom table in the middle. one of those really long old ones thats like the really nice wood that splits in the middle? and since I felt I didnt belong here, I hid. Right about this time, these two people come running in. They look like those two people from that painting with the farmer and his wife in front of their farm? and the woman stared at me with these really beady black eyes so I turned around to try to run, and there was a giant black wall behind me, and when I turned to look at the woman, I was surrounded by black and started falling. Then I awoke.

Edit: ALSO. This dream was so realistic, I could SMELL the two people. They smelt like the smell a burnt match gives off combined with like, old fabric maybe?

You were probably sleep eating Indian food.

That's what causes my creepy, realistic dreams.

the dark hallway represents where your life is heading at the moment. the doors are the opportunity that you will come across. the bright silver doors are doors that you should have been able to walk through, but because you're on the wrong path they're closed off to you.
the woman that you saw is what you will become if you follow your current path...

The meaning of the dream is this: you watch way too much media and play way too many video games.

The smell of a match would be sulfur, so you were probably walking down a corridor in Hell.
The rooms you saw were torture rooms.

I started this dream off in a dark narrow hallway with loads of doors. I had the immediate sense I was not supposed to be here at all, as if it wasnt my house and I broke in or something, so I decided to explore.

You have allowed your curiosity to overcome your respect of others. You are tempted to do wrong things, arguing to yourself that the end justifies the means.

You have important goals or desires, but you do not understand how to achieve those goals. You take the path of least resistance.

eventually I came to a giant open room, with a diningroom table in the middle. one of those really long old ones thats like the really nice wood that splits in the middle? and since I felt I didnt belong here, I hid. Right about this time, these two people come running in. Then I awoke.

You know that if you continue this path, you will not be able to escape the consequences. You are warning yourself to make wiser choices.

Either that or you've been playing too many RPGs.

    According to Freud:

The first dark tunnel is your vagina

    the lighter one resembles sex

You and the woman both wish to have a penis. A term called "penis envy"

    Men are superior

I don't think that dreams can predict anything or often are even related to anything... but there may be some truth to subconscious thoughts playing out in your mind...

    My conclusions:

    A) You feel like you are not loved/wanted by your parents and are an intrusion on their life.

    B) You feel like you are an intruder to the world.

    C) You are confused as to what choices to make in life and you feel that no matter what you choose, it always ends up being the wrong choice/something comes up and prevents it from working out.

    D) Some combination of all of the above

    E) Dreams are random bullshit and there is no meaning. :p

Pick your poison. :p (If you'd like to know why I came to conclusions A-C I can give you reasoning... but I assume it is fairly obvious from what you stated...)

Google dream symbols or some shit. I'm sure there will be websites that have common interpretations of certain things in dreams. If not, go to your local library and take out a dream book.

This is not true, psychoanalists can analize your dreams, since a dream is nothing more but a compilation of facts that happened lately in your conscious life trying to mask aspects and representations of the unconscious. Let's say that you dream with a cow because you've been into a farm lately, but the cow is not actually a cow, it can represent anything, from a relationship to a person and many other things.

Back to the OP, your dream makes me feel like you're being tortured by life. You might rather be suffering from love or someone you really care of, or maybe something you want to fulfil but you don't find the paths (everything leads to darkness = failure). As for the dinning room, these two people may represent the way you see your parents, big open dinning room may represent your house, or some place you really like to be.

PS: These interpretations are mere speculations since a Psychoanalist needs to know more about your life to actually give a trustworthy interpretation.

Yes, Yes... just as the preacher on television can save your soul for a dollar a week.

Where there are people looking for answers, there will always be someone there who claims to be a specialist willing to take your money. ;)

Haha verrrrrry true. Honestly I'd say to look stuff up yourself rather than go to a specialist. About stuff like this anyways. Unless it's really eating at you and dream books just aren't doing it for you.

Well, the difference between the preacher on television and Psychoanalists' interpretations is that the psychoanalist's are coherent and are built up in a coherently explained Psychic apparatus, plus they require years of studying the human mind and how the psychic apparatus work.

My mother is a psychologist and she's really big into dreams and what have you... I do recognize that dreams are largely based upon subconscious thoughts and ideas... I get it. However, I think that some man claiming he can properly interpret what (as in your example) a cow symbolizes to you without being completely within your frame of reference, is ludicrous. I'm here in Texas and a cow to many people may symbolize the food they need to survive... to a vegan, it may symbolize the evils of humanity as we force millions to slaughter... to a hindu, it may symbolize all things holy.

Yes, a psychoanalyst may attempt to analyze things that have recently occurred to you and interpret them... but without the ability to fully see life from your frame of reference, it is impossible other than through the use of definitions that are largely assigned to a symbol.

My real point here is that due to different upbringings and life experiences, we each have differing connotations to various words and phrases. Without the ability to know precisely how you feel about certain words, phrases, objects, situations, etc, they cannot make a legitimate interpretation any more than a psychic can tell you your future.

Very insightful. I couldn't agree more. Things have different meanings from person to person. Not everyone interprets something the same way.
