I was just wondering why the Abrosia refresh limit is so high for non-advanced members. I mean, anyone can refresh faster than 8 seconds. I understand the capitalism there, but could you lower it to something like 4? It's still to be wanting, but not ridiculously high. Comments? (+ rep if you agree, can't - rep if you don't :D)

Because it's an Advanced Member perk to be able to lower it, it provides incentive for people to get to 500 non-spam posts.

Advanced members can lower it to whatever they want.

8 seconds is just the number they chose that can still get you items but won't get you frozen for dumbasses who go "nerf-derf ab'ing WOOOOOOOO".

If you want to lower, subcribe for advanced

Yes, I said that in I understand the capitalism there, but I would say the refreshing in only certain shops is enough of a perk, plus being able to push it down to 1-2 seconds (an ideal level), or even 0 seconds (a suicide level, so much fun). I think half of the current max would be great for non-advanced.

And I think double of the current max would be great for non-advanced.

If you could lower it to 1-2 why would anyone even bother posting or sticking around for advanced?

Didn't read the post clearly. I said, when you get advanced, you can lower it to 1-2 (an ideal level). I understand why non-advanced cannot do that.

I'm not demanding, I'm just complaining and hoping. Big difference :D

It's just annoying to get Sold Out for hours in a row because your refresh is too slow.

Well even if you lower to like 4 seconds or whatever it does not mean you will get more items. Plus you'll get RS banned much faster.

Well, although it doesn't mean I'll get more items and will be RS banned faster (irrelevant), it makes it more likely for me to get items. Take this for example. Let's say the shop restocks at 3:00:03 seconds, and I refresh at 3:00:00. Now I'll reload again at 3:00:08, but 5 seconds already would have passed. Whereas, if it was 4 seconds, I would reload at 3:00:04, and they would have only been waiting for 1 second. You can see how you can get alot more items using 4 seconds.

I'm at lowest OCR and Pre-Haggle, so that's not the issue. When I do buy, it takes ~1500, which is OK.

It is pretty high, I get the point as advertising for Advanced Member but like she said lowering it only 1 second or 2 won't do much harm to advertising.

it is relevant because if you are RS banned then you cant buy any items...

Id rather buy items throughout the time i have ABer on then buy a few items then get RSbanned for the rest of the day and who knows might last longer so you cant even AB the next day...

    One word-- Shells.

Waser, will you respond with a good reason how lowering it a few seconds will hurt Neocodex?

I don't understand. People gave you a good reason, which is, non Advanced wont stick around Neocodex and participate etc...or people won't buy advanced.
I think a reason like that is more than sufficient to understand.

After the limit is lowered to 4-5, there'll still be a reason to stick around, to get to as low as you want to go. It's not that complex.

We're not trying to lower it to that far as people will just sign up and use ABrosia and never post.
We just said they should go down to around 6 seconds so we have more realistic chances to buy more items.

We prefer to reward users who contribute to the site (either financially through a subscription or by being active and making their 500 non-spam posts), I've yet to hear a good reason for lowering the refresh limit for non-Advanced users.

Ugh... fine. I guess it won't happen. I could throw out "loyalty", "attracting new members", "helping out your current members on their way to 500 posts" into the pile, but I guess it doesn't matter.

Okay but bashing us isn't helping.

Everytime we make a suggestion people come saying 'Shuddup', 'You don't own the site don't demand things', 'Contribute and maybe we will'.
Just doing that isn't really helping anything, we just have a suggestion just say you'll consider making someone feel retarded about an opinion should not always be the way to go.

And then 6 months after that, people will complain and they'll lower it again, right?

I guess you haven't noticed yet that when people hit 500 posts 60% of them dissapear off the face of the forum. Imo, this is a horrible suggestion to neocodex.

True spit lul. It's up to them in the end. I could give the quality of the "snake and rat" speech like from survivor season 1, but it doesn't make a rip of a difference if the Admins and programmers disagree.
