By the way, how come the neopet name "Alpha" says no neopet exists but when you go to create it it says a neopet with that name exists ?

Probably because the user with the pet named Alpha is frozen?

Then it would say "The owner of this neopet has been frozen" but instead it just says the neopet doesn't exist

Well in my opinion i would say that the account alpha was basically removed after being frozen since that is what has happened to me before and i still cant get that username back :'(

But really though what purge were you referring to?

For jonahfinn : when people self freeze, or TNT freezes people, their username and their pets names are still unavailable to create. For now and then, TNT do what we call "a purge", as deleting those accounts and pets for good...So people are interested by that because certain names become available to create (good names )

I learnt something new today, didn't realize petpage can say one thing, and the search, another. But since that's the case, it's best to use the search.

I have no idea what letter they're at.. I was trying to get clickable avvies yesterday, and a bunch of the pets whose links were included were all dead.

What purge are we talking about? Neopets actually cleaning up old gigs of crap from the years? They may have used the name Alpha for the first pet they made on the site. Just a thought...

I think only very old ones and/or after a very long long period. If TNT received a demand for reactivation, they won't erase the account so easily without fixing the issue first. (but who knows how TNT think)
