You ever messed with server side stuff on neo?

Of course not, that would be a federal crime. I'm not an idiot.

Getting access to the SQL database.

This would be the most likely scenario if he did have access to the database, although I would imagine he could've done much worse things (like changing every Neopet to level 1).

Sql injection is the second most common attack type, right behind Social Engineering.

    what is UCs?

    Unconverted.

It applies to select pets that were not converted to the new art style

The person doing it has been "unconverting" them for a good few months now but has only just been caught because of the names he recently used. I very nearly purchased one, but managed to find out what was going on before i did.

I bet if anything this run was just a test. The names that were replaced are really similar to each other. He planned on switching em obviously but this is the first time any of us have heard about it. Something like this, TNT WILL notice so had he been doing this for a while I'm sure we would've heard bout it. I don't think this is a selling thing right now... He prolly used a shell to run the test on and what is he really losing in that case? If perfected though... I'm pretty sure TNT will lose their site if this guy keeps doing things like this. It'll get really bad really fast and neopets won't be the same. People who aren't normally cheaters but have a high drive to get a certain pet will prolly seek this guy out. If TNT keeps on top of this, it could make it so doing this ever again is impossible and this guy may give up after a while. Honestly, I'd rather TNT stay on top of it then this guy figure out how to perfect it. Neopets will end up becoming completely worthless if he does... IMO anyway

    Just read this ^

Where have you heard about this?
Does anyone else see a huge threat in the actual site at all if this gets out or do you guys really just think it'll be pretty much like everything else? Also Muffin, what are the chances of being caught for someone who wants this done to them? (Not the guy himself but his 'customers')

I think theres a pretty high risk of being caught to be honest, especially now a lot of people know about it, its definately not something i would risk, TNT will get to the bottom of it if the numbers of unconverted pets suddenly soars!

The user is on another big neopets cheating site that i used to buy/sell on until i found codex, unlike codex this site lets people trade/sell hacked accounts etc and the amount of posts the site gets about accounts being frozen etc is stupidly high. I think its very easy to guess which site this is ;)

Also the user doesn't offer the service of unconverting your pets, he only takes pets from unused accounts, unconverts them, then selld them.

wow this would be a sad way to see the game end, i guess although most of cheat here on codex it doesnt get to the point where we are completely messing with the game.
if this were to get out i agree that it would be the end of neopets, it would mean that their database is comprimised and that whoever the person may be has complete access or at least enough access to be able to manipulate the points that he wants to

hopefully this is not the case and that TNT can get on top of this, would be sad to see peopel who play legit get frozen because of this.

That could not happen. The person would probably have very limited time to mess with the database before TNT shut down the site to stop him.

Awesome as fuck, but you know TNT will freeze his ass and put up an iron wall around whatever it is he hacked into so this can't be done again.

Who ever this guy is, i'd assume he is pretty damn good when it comes to hacking. Which brings fourth the question why is he hacking a site like neopets?

He'll probably get sued (if he does any further damage and if he gets caught)
But yeah, this is pretty amazing o.o
