So, I usually lurk around, but decided to come out of the shadows and introduce myself. I'm Becca and I used to play Neopets a looong time ago. I remember seeing small a Neopets advert in a magazine and signed up. Later, I pestered my parents to send off a parental form. I was about 11. XD Since then, Neo has changed so much - I remember the complete lab map cost around 180k at one point (Probably less) and you could upload images to guilds. I don't really remember much else, I guess I just grew out of it. I've recently came back to Neopets, but with all the changes, I feel like I'm starting out again.

As for what lies beyond Neopets - Since I grew up out of it for a while, I've specialised in art. I've worked for a few petsites in the past (But never Neopets) and I'm currently working on my own projects. I'm not a strong writer, so tend to stay away from that creative side of things.

I'm currently trawling through stuff to find my old accounts, many using different e-mails. I'm so glad they lifted the DOB restriction. xD

So yeah, nice to be here, and I hope I can make a few friends.

I'm assuming that you're from the U.S. since neopets was advertised. I'm from australia and can't recall seeing any ads of any kind relating to neopets.
I joined neo when i was 10, didn't know about lab map until a year or so after...full set was around 100k. =/ never saw the point of it then though.
It wasn't until I participated in the meridell war that I realised how awesome the battledome really was, by then the lab set was worth 500k. =[

I'm sure you'll be able to make friends here, there seem to be some very talented people in graphics.

I'm from the UK. I forgot which magazine exactly, but it was either a small advert or a website pick from one of the editors there for younger children. And yeah - I was in the same boat with the map thing. By the time I realized the point of it, the price had already gone up. Battling on Neopets isn't one of the things I do on that game - I prefer to browse the boards, guild and beauty contest in paticular.

I haven't yet checked out the graphics section, but you've reminded me that I should probably make myself a signature. Thanks for the welcomes, both of you.
