I don't know if anyone is going to care, or anyone who I think may care is even still here (considering I haven't posted in a few months), but I wanted to share the what's been going on (in detail) over the past couple of years. We used to discuss these things, you see.

Chapter 1
I moved from Nevada to California in September 2009 (about 3 months after I finished highschool). I moved in with my dad so I could go to a school near where he lives and get a post secondary education. Left all my friends and my long time girlfriend (we decided to stay in a relationship) behind. Moved to a place where I only had family. I spend the next year and a half busting my balls (okay, not really. I went to an auto tech trade school. This type of thing comes easy to me) carrying a 4.0 GPA and 100% attendance, while trying to co-run my dad's business (i.e. doing everything that wasn't sales related) and keep the house clean. This meant cleaning up after 7 people - 5 women, my dad and myself. They're all fucking pigs. I was also put to work on property maintenance - lawn mowing, dog shit, dog feeding etc. To add to this, any time ANYTHING broke or was functioning properly it was my job to fix it (3000sqft house and a 3/4 acre property...so much work for one person). Right the fuck then. Maintenance on the cars. And running to the grocery store / 7-11 / where ever else the fatasses I lived with were too lazy to do. The amount of time I had to myself was next to none. Then another person moves into the house - my dad's girlsfriend's daughter. "Mom I'm pregnant, save me". I was booted out of my bedroom, with no choice, due to it being my dad's girlfriend's house. So I stayed in a toy-hauler in the driveway for 4 months. Yeah. A trailer. I finally got sick of it. I cleaned out the copious amounts of trash and junk from the back room (office / storage) and tore down the walls. Wired in some outlets and lighting, stuffed in some insulation, and hung fresh drywall. Bought an A/C unit and put it in the window. Fuck yeah. My own room detached from the house. Noone's gonna fucking bug me. Wasn't too bad, except for the west-facing windows during summertime sunset. Ontario, California. Way too hot for that shit. I continued being the family bitch for the next 10 months. The stress took its toll - I couldn't handle a relationship. I left my girlfriend of 3 years. Sad, now that I think about it. Dated one of my exes..who lived in another state. Why I did that, I really don't know. Dumb idea. Left her. Got back with 3-year ex. Still couldn't handle a relationship. Left her. Still being family bitch. I really had no choice - I lived there for free. I used my dad's and his girlfriend's cars to get to school. What could I have done? Finally, February 2011 rolled around. Time to graduate from school and get the fuck out of this pisshole. Throughout this entire 18 month stint, I had not left the house for a social activity - except for a concert - once. I was so relieved to be able to leave. I hadn't had a curfew since I was 15 - but my dad decided it would be a good idea to play parent and throw me a curfew of 12am for when I did attempt to go somewhere (mind you I hadn't lived with this man since I was about 3 - nor did he have a significant role in my life). So I never went anywhere. Anyways. Grad day comes. Good day. Dinner with my mom and grandparents from out of state. Never got dinner with my dad - said he couldn't afford it. Funny...his girlfriend's daughter got a $1,000 check, a car, and a $600 dinner for her high school graduation.
Extra thought: My dad tried to bribe and convince me numerous times to stay in his home. He offerred me a car to use, no rent, etc etc. - threw in my face that there's no work in Vegas for me and I won't be able to find a job -
I considered it. Being the family bitch kicked that out.
Extra thought: I forgot to put in that I graduate with honors society, NATEF "National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation" recognition, 12 director's list awards and 8 top in class rewards.

Chapter 2
So around this time my mom got her tax refund check in. Threw me a grand. Bought myself an 86 Benz. Lame ass car, but it worked. As soon as the paperwork for that car was done and the title was in my hand, I was gone. March 5th, I was fucking out of that house. I was so excited to get back to Vegas - I was doing at least 100mph the entire drive home.
During the last couple of weeks in my dad's home, I had reconnected with a girl that I had a short fling with (oh man the feelings were so intense though) in my Junior year of high school.
She got in to drugs and had to be forcibly placed in a rehab facility after a near death experience...really sucked. We had talked (and had a couple of flings) since she had come back from rehab, but they never worked out - because she was always with someone, or I was with someone, when we were talking. This time I was single and so was she (although she does now have a 10 month old son). I got back to my mom's house in Vegas, and the first thing I did was take the 2 boxes (yeah, I fit all my possessions into 2 boxes + a suitcase) out of the back seat of my car and then I went up to her house. About 8pm. We spend the rest of the night together - I didn't get her home until 6 am. This may be a little TMI and too graphic, but it's a crucial part. We ended up sleeping together, and oh my god. It was by far the most incredible thing I have ever experienced in my life. And I'm not talking about how great she was in bed, either. We made love. Hot, passionate love. An hour and a half of it. I have never felt so passionate and so connected with someone. It was absolutely amazing and indescribable. We spent most of our free time together. Now, I'm a very, very sexual person. I'm horny all the time and dammit I need to get some. It was different with her. The thought of sleeping with her rarely crossed my mind. I didn't feel like I needed to sleep with her to be close to her. I didn't even need to cuddle, hug or kiss her all the time. It was just different. I was pleased purely with being in her company. She's different. Special.
Anyways. I ran to all 5 Ford dealerships in town and a couple of independent repair shops that were all actively hiring (I specialized in Ford and already had 11 factory certifications before even working in the field). I spend weeks running call backs and leaving voice mails. Nobody ever called me back - and nobody was ever around when I called. 2 weeks I chased around 8 places. No fucking luck and I was starting to think my dad was right about finding work here.
Heading up to my girlfriend's house I decided on a whim to stop at a Chevrolet dealership. Why not. The service director just HAPPENED to be in - and I just happened to have a resume in my car. I met with him and he flipped through my resume and asked me a few questions. He asked me what I wanted to get paid...I really had no idea. I told him that. He told me that he'd like to start me at $18 an hour on a flat rate pay scale. I agreed - and I thought to my self.."am I really about to get hired on the spot from a walk-in?"
And I was. We walked up to the HR department, he set me up with a packet of paperwork which I dutifully filled out. My hair was snipped, bagged and labeled for drug testing.
Fucking awesome day.
2 weeks later he calls me back. "We'll see you on Monday for work!"
Greatest feeling of accomplishment I've ever had. Once I was accustomed to the flow of things at work, things went great. I was always busy - business booming. Then, my first Thursday at work comes along. I get a job to replace a steering column, under warranty. The job paid for .8 hours - I spent 4 hours trying to remove the goddamn thing, and 2 more putting the new one in. Turns out I broke some components related to the SRS/airbag system. I cost the company $200, and the parts to replace what I broke were 8 days away. That's a rental car for the customer. Man, I felt like shit - first week and I'm breaking shit already. Not to mention I spent about 7 hours not getting paid. Long day at work, I looked forward to going home to a beer. Too bad my car's transmission decided to go out on the opposite side of town from my house and my cellphone was dead. Spent 4 hours trying to contact someone. Friday, I did a brake job. I was way too busy with way too many things and didn't get enough sleep. I wasn't paying full attention to what I was doing. I completed the service and put the vehicle back down from the lift to drive it out - but I forgot to pump the brake pedal. I put the car in drive...and BAM. I smashed a car into my $3,000 toolbox, rendering the locking mechanism and two drawers useless (which I ended up restoring to working order). FUCK. The car was not damaged at all and I didn't cost the company any money - but my new nickname is "crash". I worked my ass off the week after that. End of the pay period - I ended with 110 hours on the clock, and 126 worth of work flagged out (which means I got paid for 126 hours). My first paycheck comes in and I'm fucking elated - $2000. Fucking AWESOME. I bought clothes, I bought tools (oh god how I hate buying tools), I bought a bed (was sleeping on the couch), and I bought a ring to put on my girlfriend's finger. That Saturday I took her to the Floyd Lamb - Tule Springs state park, a place she is quite fond of. We walked around for a while until I found a spot that I found to be quite beautiful. I stepped behind her, hit the floor, everyone do the dinosaur.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. I stepped behind her, wrapped my arms around her...gave her a kiss on the cheek and asked her what she thought about spending the rest of her life with me (something we had discussed before...marriage et al). She expressed that she would be quite fond of the idea...so I took the ring from my pocket and presented it to her without even saying anything. (I was still standing behind her. I think it's too cheesy to get on one knee). She spun around, kissed me and started crying hysterically, after a few minutes calmed down enough to look at me and say yes. That is now the number one greatest feeling of accomplishment in my life. We left the park and headed over to a local tattoo shop, where I had "Vous et nul atres" (You and no other) written on my ring finger (I can't wear a ring in my line of work).
And that was up to about a week ago. Nothing eventful since then.

TL;DR spend a bunch of time as a lonely fucking slave, graduated post-secondary school, went back home, got a job, broke some shit, got a bunch of money, bought some shit, got engaged.

+5 if you actually read this entire fucking post.

That was quite a story, although to you it's your life. I'm bloody impressed by your achievement of graduating with honors after having being treated like crap. A lot of people would have just given up and gone home. I'm glad things are looking up for you now, goodness knows you've earned it! *wonders how you managed not to critically injure certain people through the months* Congrats on your engagement :) Hopefully you'll both make each other very happy for a very long time. You get a 10 month old kid along for the ride, most people wouldn't like that, but I figure from everything you've written, you're pretty much up for anything.

I was informed and said ok - I keep my hair short so I've only got maybe 4-6 months of drug history up there, but I haven't used drugs in 3 or 4 years. It wasn't an issue for me.
But a hair test is reasonable. I deal with other people's 2,500+ pound pieces of machinery that they spend $20,000 + on and spend 3+ years paying off. If I fuck up, people can be killed and a lot of money can be lost.
I hate California. It's so disgusting. (Exceptions: Redondo Beach, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach)

:bows: Thank you thank you :)

It's like thanksgiving dinner...takes an hour to type and 5 minutes to read...

Oh man I fucking love kids. I've always wanted one in the future. I don't mind taking this one under my wing at this point though - at 10 months they're past the wake-up-every-hour-in the middle of the night-and cry- stage and don't suck all that much. He's a pretty rad little guy.

I almost did give up and go home. Three times. I didn't have a way to get home.

    Yay, +5! Haha.

o: That's so cool, you found someone who's incomparable to all the other people you've been with. Someone special.
The feelings you've expressed for this person seems like such an amazing thing. I hope one day I could experience those exact feelings. It's so hard to imagine! ):

Too bad for the people who aren't here anymore ): ; they don't get to hear the rest of your story and how everything has turned around for you!

She was in to coke, herion, meth and ecstasy...what did her in for the rehab stint was the E.
She has been sober from hard drugs for 2 years now...she smokes weed, but she's a legal medical patient...it helps with chemotherapy side effects.
Right now she live with her parents. Her, her son and I will be moving in together when I know the stabiltity of my job and know that I won't have to struggle to pay bills.

meth and heroine are two scary things, i have some friends who became addicted to black tar heroine from accepting a joint someone had laced with it
i am sorry to hear that she is going through chemo; hope for her quick recovery

the plan sounds good to me - i am sure that it will all work out :3

{edit} not that coke and ecstasy aren't serious drugs as well...
