Yea,I know. Mum won't pay for an actual laptop. >_> I really really don't like this setup. But it's what I have to work with. It's also pink.

Anyways, my last one broke on me. (They have no idea what the issue is. It just won't revive. It's an actual physical issue with it, something about the power source being bad, or the spark plug thing. /stupid)

First, it's 120gb. I told my mother if I was going to get another one, it would have to have more harddrive space. Or a portable hard drive. Since my PSD's are like upwards 55mb+ and anime takes up a lot of space as well.

I have absolutely no idea where to start looking. Although I'm thinking in the $50-$150 range. It has to be of quality and I'd like it to be at least 250 gb. (Although I'd, if i got my wish, it'd be a 1TB one. >_>) And I'm such a n00b with this sort of thing, so any help would be appreciated.

Also, since it's Vista, and my last one was windows 7. Since i bought the laptops from the same person, would I be able to get him to put my windows 7 OS on my new one? Or would I have to buy it again or what? (I mean, if I could get it properly working, I'd just download it, but I'm rather frightened by the idea of downloading something of such a large proportion).

Finally, this is sorta not technical, but does anybody know where I can find cool laptop stickers? >_> I'd be rather scared to go out in public with a pink laptop. ;-;

And any other advice that'd probably help me. :3

Thank you in advance guys<33

You should leave it the way it is to make yourself stand out. ;o

Why do you even keep that crap on your computer? When I usually download stuff it gets deleted after viewing/using it.
You should have a sticker with the windows 7 serial on your old laptop so if you have a disk (you usually get a OEM OS installation disk with a new computer) it's as simple as just putting the disk in the computer, restarting and then just doing the installation.

Because sometimes I like rewatching stuff? And having old PSD's is useful? And typically I'm lazy about deleting stuff anyways.

I remember having the sticker, but I got the laptop with windows 7 on it. I never got the disc. (Somebody when I first got it asked for the disc anyways)

I understand PSDs, etc. but anime is shit anyway so no point in keeping that crap around.
Guess you'll have to torrent windows 7 unless you want to pay some outrageous sum for it (and if somebody's going to post "nuh-uh I registered with an .edu email at MSDN and got my copy for free!" then I'm seriously going to punch somebody).

I didn't get a disc with my one either. Instead they put the recovery discs on a partition on my hard drive.
If you're buying your new one from the same place, they should transfer the cd-key to your new one for free.

Also, I've used vista for the past 2years and haven't had a single problem with it.
It's not as bad as people think it is (anymore) :p

When someone comments on it, just smile and say you'll beat their face in.

From my experience I never save PSDs unless it's for nostalgia or if it's actual client work. Never get attached to any of your stuff, especially if they're hefty and take up a lot of space. Also I should mention that almost all external HDDs fail after so and so years, so it's worth it to just invest in what space you need. Most people--unless they have like a hundred billion movies/TV episodes--won't need 1TB of storage. I cram a lot of stuff onto my 250GB one and it's still not full. I suggest you sift through Newegg and see what you'll want for an external HDD based on your preferences.

Also, since it's Vista, and my last one was windows 7. Since i bought the laptops from the same person, would I be able to get him to put my windows 7 OS on my new one? Nothing wrong with Vista, but yeah you should be able to get W7 on your machine.

I have filled my 2Tb HDD with Television and Film. I'm looking at upgrading to a Drobo set up soon.
