Let's say you put up an item for auction and price it at 20,000 and make the minimum bid increase 180,001, forcing someone to bid 200,001 NP for your item. Obviously, you'd be hoping for someone to carelessly overbid for your item. Can you get in trouble for this?

I don't think the increment can be bigger than the starting price.

Also people get away with selling baby paint brush plushies for 500k everyday.

Scamming is always against the rules, but you can't do it anyway.

Bid increment cannot be larger than the initial value.

Example: If you want someone to pay 7 million on an item, you can do the following:

    Initial: 4,000,000
    Increment: 3,000,000

But you cannot do the following:

    Initial: 1,000,000
    Increment: 6,000,000

If you're buying from auctions, you should always look to the right, the real price, not the current. It's just common sense to look at what you're paying for it, not what the last guy paid for it.

I cannot believe I'm being criticized by a bunch of people on a forum that endorses cheating... The irony.

Cheating on a game and scamming is two different things.

I don't see any irony at all. It'd be in your best interest to leave the thread before someone grabs a flamethrower.

Don't read too much into what people say. You asked a legitimate question, then there was a small reference to scamming, and then people saw the word scam and became mob-blinded without thinking or truly reading the intentions of the previous posts with a level mind. You're totally cool and don't worry about it.

    Thank you.

EDIT: Not to mention, the item I was trying to sell was equal to the price I was trying to get people to bid. I was just having a very difficult time selling it. I've since sold it legitimately via the tradepost for more than I had anticipated.
