*shrug*
I've just seen discussions similar to ours get told to either stop or get hidden. If I'm wrong, I applaud them because this crap used to happen all the time while we flourished. I'm not sure if there's any UK-based mods, but I think there's quite a few that may as well be. I personally keep switching between Australian and UK's time zones. I'm odd like that.

It's stupid, we're here after all to chat, isn't that what a forum is for? This 'crap' is required for the community to flourish more, it hardly very active any more and we've gone down the path of allowing 'seedy' topics: "what turns you on?" I mean really, wtf?

I would say either re-instate you as a smod (because you did a good job when you was one) or actually promote a UK member to being smod as we need someone during those timezones too.. like you say, UK and Australian..

Oh, and that actually confuses me since I thought the two of you were actually making real bids for the job at least in your first post. I guess you can PM them or something.

Confuses me too, as I was being serious at $600.. like I said I do not come cheap.

Obviously Pyro did not see it that way :(

Not going to happen. We don't get along xD

Codex has had seedy topics in the past including a discussion about a member's sex tape, but it does seem like it's increased, but what the hell do I know? I just started posting again.

And yeah, $600 actually isn't bad if you know what you're doing. I doubt you'll get it as I think they wanted to pay someone like $20 since it's for free resources. I encounter that issue all the time. In freelancing you almost never get paid what you're worth.

I consider freelancing to be similar to prostitution in that way.

It really is because often you're doing a craft for someone which may as well be selling your soul. It's a wonderful resume builder though if you're starting out.

I noticed the issue between you and Noit.. Is it just him or is it other administrators you don't get along with also? It's very sad if it's just one pulling rank.

I agree, Codex has had seedy topics in the past, but were they not usually in private or even retired? I believe they were never made public. (Also who's sex tape was it? I know something of myself was distributed around here once ;))

I can hardly say anything either, I've only recently begun posting again too.

Yeah, I could see they were expecting to pay $20, but if they really would want the job done they would be prepared to actually pay something far more decent than that. I mean with jcrGirls assignments I was looking at being paid $50 per one, not $15. But hey-ho, another member has took that job on now for a lesser fee (more fool them).

I dislike freelancing, but it's what I am having to do at the minute to get my work out their and my portfolio built. Which leads me to asking: does NeoCodex still possess any of my old source code? Would be grateful to have it back as I've lost my copies.

There's a source code forum. Local freelancing is great. With the local Australian market you can easily charge local businesses close to $2,000 for a 4-5 page website integrated within a CMS. If you were to post that project on freelancing.com, you'd get someone bidding $50 for it.

Aren't they one in the same? I really should just work on something regularly instead of constantly looking for more customers. Oh the ways that could be interpreted...

Well, I'm sure it could still be found somewhere in public so I might as well say it's Sonic. He linked directly to it on the boards, something I believe I deleted myself. Discussion still followed and I really didn't want to read it. *shudders* And I think I know what you're referring to.

About the source code, I'd also like to know what happened to all of the GFX posts as well. I imagine they're either deleted or just simply dumped into an invisible forum.

TL;DR: im boring, have no friends, and hate almost everything: WHAT DO?

My entire post got deleted as I was about to submit it... so I have to retype it. Here goes:

Firstly: +1 for bringing the textbook to a party. :p

I adopted the same mindset as you for a while. For the longest time I figured that I was a boring person, but the reality was that everytime I said that about myself, I was pretty much lying because I knew I was up to a lot of stuff. It's just that people didn't appreciate the type of stuff I was up to, or I just never revealed much about myself for them to be able to appreciate it. Maybe that's the issue here as well. There are people that like the stuff we're up to, they're just hiding somewhere. <_< Or we're too quiet. <_<

But yeah, you're definitely introverted (like I and many others). You found a boyfriend though, so that's something at least, right? Better than some people. :p

If you're an introvert, you're an introvert. Seems like the friends you have are more extrovert (fuck dancing.). Try and make some friends who're also introverts. They like their space and when they want to socialize, they do.

For some reason, I was under the impression that every female liked dancing. I was getting worried because I hate it (fine, slow dancing is bearable, but that grinding shit is dumb).

Don't change yourself to please others.

Let others change to please you.
    ... Nah, just kidding.

Anyway, lighten up! I'm a person who prefers sleeping over parties as well, and I still have a lot of supportive friends who understand me.
Don't be afraid to let loose once in a while - having fun doesn't necessarily have to involve drugs, alcohol, or anything like that.
"Fun" has a different meaning for each person - don't follow the stereotype.

Oh, yeah, while OP has pretty much given a bunch of options to go out and conquer the world, I also want to contribute something.
I used to be an attention whore, but in the shallow-minded mode, you know, going to parties and night clubs, drinking alcohol, dancing and doing naughty stuff... and stuff. But well, I somehow overcame that stage of my life just to realize that doing those things don't really pay off at the end. You come to be known as a whore, you get bad reputation and no one ends giving a damn about you, but about your body. After that, I suffered some kind of emo stage, but came to appreciate myself and began thinking about what is correct and what is not according to my judgment.
I started reading, I started writing, I started playing videogames and meeting "not-wild" people and found out that I didn't have to go to parties, clubs or bars to have fun and be an interesting person. The fact that I now know how to play the classical guitar has led me not only to self-fulfilment but also to admiration from others, because, after being the attention hungry, air-headed girl I was, I developed my talents, got to have fun in the process and also fixed my image and am now respected and stuff.
I would totally recommend discovering new things and try to develop your hidden talents. For example, try you luck with an instrument and go to study at a conservatory. You'll get to know calm and talented people while doing something you'll get to enjoy, developing your skills and, at the end, people will aproach you by themselves, because they'll want to meet an amazing person such as you. It really works ;)

I'd rather be like you. It pretty much sucks to know you're a pretty fun person, but not have the opportunity to hang out with others because of your parents. I'm almost 17 and I have absolutely no freedom, and when I do go out, I have to bring my sister. It's ridiculous. I wish I didn't want to hang out with people. I wish I was content with just a couple of books and a nice quiet room. Unfortunately, I'm not. I crave the feeling you get when you're socializing. I love to be outside, at parties and such. If I had freedom, I don't think I'd have any reason to dislike my life. It sucks that I do though, my parents bring me more emotional pain than anything else despite the fact that they're supposed to be caregivers. They seem to forget I'm a person too, I have emotional needs and a roof over my head isn't my only necessity.

I didn't mean to make this all about me, but sometimes you should be grateful you don't need social interaction to be happy. If you're fine with hanging out by yourself, don't let others influence you to change.
