My first is a heart in the shape of snakes on my lower back (not gonna explain what it is because you'll all think I'm crazy), my 2nd is a drawing I did that represents my brother and sister, my third is going to be a white feather.
I have plans to get my family crest done from my moms side of the family, our motto means bold in danger; it looks quite a bit like yours with the helmet and all, but the shield is different (two lions).
Then I'll be getting a pirate ship on my side and a sparrow, some other nautical symbolic tattoos, to represent my two grandfathers who died and worked in the Navy.
I think, in general, if you ask people who have tattoos, each and every one of them has meaning to them personally. I've never met anyone who got a tattoo that didn't have it represent something from their lives. I have a friend who literally has every cliche tattoo out there (nautical stars, chinese writing, sparrows, tribal heart and tribal design, koi fish) and they all mean something to her.
I really enjoy your mish mash of the two crests, give kudos to your artist. Don't know if you have any others but the color will be much, much nicer of a feeling. I hate getting line work done, my artist actually said they hurt more because the machine they use for line work hits harder then that of the coloring.

Well, it's unfinished. But the important part is finished.done? you mean it will stay like this? looks pretty unfinished to me...
I was going to do color - but I thought of the appearance over time of the color and decided to go with grey shading. My artist also mentioned that he could do something far more amazing with greyscale...so I decided to do that instead.I find most tattoos pretty tacky and I generally dislike them, but it impresses me that this one has so much meaning to it. I especially like the idea of the combined crest with both of your lineages. Now you said shading, will this be colored or just left black?
As far as the two linage mashup, not so much. The first one is my actual family crest...but I really have no idea where the second is from. Same last name were assigned to both with different spellings, so I'm leaning that the second one is a newer reiteration.

I didn't mind the line work at all, honestly.
I have a few words written on my left ring finger..where a ring would normally be worn. This is my first detailed piece.

Why wait till 20? It's legal after you're 18 in Canada.
18 I'll still be living with my parents Then again if I go to UofT or York uni I'll still be living with them when I'm 20......

I think you need to learn to spell... You put a Y in Jason, and now the poor boy is stuffed for life cos it's on his birth certificate.
Almost as bad as Le-a being pronounced as ledasha...
i take offence to this. REPORTED......
lol jks

I don't have any tattoos yet, but I have one picked out for when I'm able to get it.
I have no idea where I want it yet..I might end up wanting a half sleeve..so I could start it with that.. or get it on my neck.
