First off, forgive me if this is a stupid question. I'm not too bright. D:

So I understand the whole middleman thing. I just have a question I'm confused about.

Let's say there's a trade between Person1 and Person2; item for NPs:
1) Person 2 gives money to the middleman
2) Person 1 gives their item to Person 2.
3) Person 2 lies and says they haven't received said item, although Person1 gave the item to them.

Then what?
Since I'm a new member (and lets saying I'm person 1 in the scenario), I'm assuming I won't be the one believed.
Haha, call me paranoid but I just want to make sure I understand everything so I won't be...well, effed.

Person 2 gets ignored, no matter how loud he/she tries to cry. (Everyone will belive more on th middlman, that's why middlemen are only people that's well known here (Always chck that you're using an official middleman)).

Person 1 receives the moneythat person 2 gave to the middleman.


If the middleman doesn't receive a part of the trade, the trade just won't advance (so an scam is impossible unless that the middleman gets hacked by super-hackerz with ninja skills )




And don't worry, these middlemen are trustful members that would loose a lot if they made stupid things like scamming (they have a deep bond to this site in some way or another).

I think the middleman gets both items an NP?
Although not sure how it works with NC items since the Middleman will need to have boxes.

It most cases the middleman gets both items/amounts in the transaction and exchanges them, but it depends on the type of transaction.

Edit: In terms of NC items, it just depends on the trader. Middlemen don't have boxes usually so its just a trust thing.
In terms of "other" it can be the same way since certain online websites might take a while to transfer funds.

Like I said, it's situational, and that's best discussed with whom you are trading with and/or the middleman.

Also depending on the trade, the person who looks less trustworthy would most likely not be believed, which that in itself should be a given.. older user with a higher trader score trumps newer user always, even if older user did scam, unless you can prove it.

Yes, the middleman gets both the item and th Nps or the trade doesn't goes on.

1- The middleman receives BOTH pats of the trade (Both person 1 and person 2 MUST give their items / Np / Stuff to the middleman)
If the middleman hasn't receivd a part of the trade, the trade can't continue.

2- The middleman realizes the trade (gives the stuff he already received of person 1 to person 2, and the stuff from person 2 to person 1)

3-Rate with 5 stars to your trader nd middleman if everything went nice
4- Everyone is happy

Okay, no problem



Note that this middleman thing cannot be done with weird stuff like NC or other, so you just use you instinct and follow the traditional system:


1- You find a trader

2- You trade


3a - Trade happens right and both people rate with 5 stars each other
3b- You get scammed because there wasn't a middleman
(So try using a middleman).

What should happen is:
1) MM holds the item.
2) Person sends over NPs via trades/shops/etc - SCREENIE this part.
3) Screenie shown to MM to confirm and verify trade.
4) MM delivers item.

You can do it via MM - holding the NPs, person sends over the item (SCREENIES), then MM gives you the NPs.
Either way, make sure the UNs of the Neopets accounts involved in the trade are known to all 3 (you, trader, MM) and also that you can link their MSN/IM account back to their NC one.
