So i've been using Abrosia for a few months now and it's been great. I was just wondering if you were willing to share whether you feel it is more beneficial for basic users, using lists for specific shops - visiting one shop per restock or the general settings to visit all shops.

I personally have tried both and so far have seen more benefit from visiting all shops, do you guys agree or have you experienced different?

I've been both basic and advanced, and I've found cycling through all shops is a lot better than lists. Lists don't automatically update to fluctuations in market prices, and can easily cause you to buy a ton of unprofitable items. The cycling through can get you some unexpected profits in stores you don't normally go to, and makes you a lot more human-like imo.

I've been both basic and advanced as well. Id really say that you can benefit from shop cycling more than the lists if you don't AB in a consistently profitable shop. For the most of my non-advanced days, I was satisfied ABing with my list because it produced predictable profits with a steady flux of ETS buyable items. The combination of the list I made (mostly modified from lists you see around) and the shop I raped produced higher revenues that random shopping. I have tried cycling when I was new, but I was dissatisfied with inconsistency with the selling rate of the items, the profits, and overall, the frequency of the buys.

I say cycling shops since the database is updated constantly. Just restart Abrosia until you get a shop you like.

I prefer to use lists, as a basic member. If you use the Item Database here on Codex, with the options "Sort by Profit descending", in the shop you want to AB in, then it should turn up a bunch of profitable items. Copy and paste that into a list until you reach the profit margin you want (say...5k, then copy and paste all items until you get to items worth no less than 5k profit).

I would say lists. You really have a limited few shops that you can do well in with non-advanced settings, so it's worth focusing on one. the extra 10 minutes to make a list for one of them is nothing.

The automatic shop selection is weighted so it has a better chance to choose the shops with the most profitable items, it doesn't just pick any shop at random.

Yeah I've noticed that it almost never throws me in a fish in the water shop.

but the shops that are best for non-advanced aren't simply those with the most profitable items

Definitely the cycling, you need to go to noob stores with HTS items in the default settings to get a lot if items, your buy times are definitely not going to be as fast as me, so in any shop I basically go to, I always get the most expensive item for the most part, then the third, and then the 6th in the same restock. non-advanced don't really stand a chance against me.

So just go what you get given, some good non-advanced stores I found were gardening, furniture, gifts, uni's clothing, stuff like that =)

I think he means that since we are forced to use basic settings, competing in high-competition stores for profitable items is not beneficial to us as we lose out to those who have lower OCR & buy times.

It prioritises the shops with the highest number of profitable items, not the highest profit items.

Cycle through all shops definitely. I was running basic Abrosia for about two months until about two days ago when I subscribed. I did find out quite quickly that with the basic settings you can leave it open a lot longer than is usually recommended for autobuying. I would leave it through my 6-8 hour sleep at night and nothing bad ever happened to my accounts besides a restock ban. I would highly recommend trying to obtain a 3year+ shell for AAA though. Even with basic settings I was able to pick up tons of UBs there, which increased my profits more than two-fold (in my estimation)

    yeah, that's it, but...

that's where I was confused. I was reading as most profitable instead of most profitable. in that case everyone should forget about lists

I think using a list and sticking to a small selection of shops is more human-like than roaming around. Don't know about you but it's hard enough figuring out what's profitable in just one shop. I can't imagine how skilled you'd have to be to remember what's profitable in every shop on neopia. Of course when I say this, I also would expect to be in a specific shop with many low-profit purchases. My favorite is Spooky Foods. I'm also using ambrosia to learn which items are profitable and how often they occur so I can restock myself when I feel like it.

    I LOVE THE BAKERY.

    oh, and chocolate too.
I just use lists to constantly AB in those shops. I sometimes maually RS in those shops too, to see perhaps if there's anything I might've missed in my list

Lists. I've been to the tiki shack a couple times... And that's not fun. Used to RS in clothes but hate seeing missed x 20.

I had autobought a couple times before I used Abrosia, but I had never learned to do it right. When I started using Abrosia in its beginning phases, while everyone was using lists and treating Abrosia like any other autobuyer, I was rotating shops and gathering data, and it was becoming apparent to us that rotating shops and buying lower profit items, but more of them, was an effective strategy for account preservation.

This has swayed my opinion on which shops to go to, and I ended up picking some of my favorite shops when I was seeing where I went in my rotation.

tl;dr: That basic phase is a great time to learn about which shops are surprisingly profitable and is pretty safe with those conservative settings

I have a set list and shop I go to. I cycle it on occasion with 2 other shops (with smaller lists). My best restocks are still 1.4 seconds, with an average of like 1.8-2.0 lately.

I like to make personal lists and use them, i gave them to my friend and he got 5m in a week, never got iced. I get more profit that way, but I suggest playing around with it see whatever gives you higher profits.
