Nothing at all in that post indicates that I am a "hipster" its not as though I go around with my hippity hop and bippity bop. I listen to rap. Period.

I don't listen to Hip-Hop

Except for the whole "snoop dogg's good songs have been commercialised too much", "Eminem and 50 have been commercialised past the point of ever being an actual rapper". You seem to love beating on the 'ole commercialisation. Everything's way too mainstream and commercialised man :funone:

and btw:

Someone, please. Take away his spade.

So far I am just playing diamonds, just wait until I bust out the spades! ;)

Funny you mention Oxycotin, I just listened to that.

Glad you approve of my 'white rap'.

In what card game metaphor does that even begin to make sense?

So glad that Biggie is being classified in a genre that he is not a part of. I've never been a huge fan of Biggie anyways but it would be stupid to overlook adding him. I've not listened to Biggie much at all but everything I did hear was pure rap.

Snoop Dogg is one of my favorites but it is when he guest spots in a song as I stated before. I really did debate whether or not to add him to my initial list. The problem I have with adding Snoop to a list I was making for Rappers is that he does do Hip-Hop more often now and is no longer just rapping.

Yeah that makes sense... I am a "hipster" because I listen to actual rap and not hip-hop. Way to burn me. Ohh it hurts.

I do not think hipster means what you think it means.

But that's not a one player game.

Well, I'm glad I'm not pretentious enough to think that commercialized = lack of skill.

Anyway.. I'm quite fond of Tupac, Biggie, Eminem, Easy E, Snoop, Missy Elliott, and Jean Grae.
I have a few more on my playlist, but when I do listen to rap/hip-hop those are who I prefer.

Spider Solitaire then.

Where spades have no intrinsic value?

Why continue arguing this point? You're just digging further down into a pit of daftness.

Never once did I say that commercialized = lack of skill. I said that I don't like Eminem who is overly commercialized. I am not being pretentious just opinionated.

For this type of project, I would use a drill instead of a shovel.

I don't think you can even compare Lil Wayne with rappers from the early 90s like A Tribe Called Quest, Wu Tang, Pharcyde, they are hardly even the same genre. Though I don't really like Lil Wayne's song I respect that he at least brings originality, which (I know I might be disagreeing with most rap listeners) I don't think Eminem brings at all, I enjoyed his early 2000's songs when I was young, but every song he is in sounds the exact same in the past 3 years, and honestly aren't worth listening to. Out of rappers still putting out albums regularly I mostly like The Game, Lupe, Common, and even some Kid Cudi.

As far as comparing Lil Wayne to Biggie and 2Pac, I think he is far less talented, and has a smaller(I suppose bigger than biggie's, but biggie is probably the best rapper, though not necessarily the best lyric writer), less impressive body of work that shows less growth than those two men who died before they reached Lil Wayne's age (And didn't get a record deal when they were 12).

Here is the link to my playlist on Youtube, so if you're interested in a decent variety of songs that is mainly rap you might want to check it out.

These are just some of my favorite songs really, I like a lot more but there are some that I just can't find such as Chopper City Boyz - What I Like About Her.

NSFW - I listen to uncensored music:

few of my favorites.
I can't stand most of lil wayne's shit, because in my opinion thats all it is, is shit.

As far as Eminem goes, his past two albums haven't lived up to his old stuff, but his stuff he did with royce were pretty good.
