Figured we need one of these here. So without further ado who is/are your favourite guitarists? And please note i said favourite, don't want a debate on who's shit. Anyways for me there's 2 that really stand out, first of all this man needs no explanation so ima just put this here.

Just to be clear, that IS Keith Richards, isn't it? This is a neopets site, dude. These kids aren't going to know who that is unless you introduce him as Jack Sparrow's dad, or whatever.

Yeah I'm totally into this Frusciante character. He is the former guitarist for alternative rock band "The Red Hot Chili Peppers". He is responsible for their most successful recordings and they are mediocre without him.
His love for music just leaves me in awe. His solo work is amazing, and so is his Cat Steven-esque voice.
Also, the orgasm face he makes when he plays gets me all excited.

Vinnie Moore, John Sykes, Mark Knopfler and Michael Schenker are all my favourites.

For associated bands - UFO, Whitesnake/Thin Lizzy, Dire Straits and Scorpions/UFO

Marty Friedman would have to get honorably mention. I'm not that big a fan, but damnit if he isn't an amazing shredder.


An example of Sykes' playing, since his career is pretty sporadic.

I would have to say Carlos Santana is a favourite of mine, mainly due to the fact i had to listen to his music all through my childhood, eventually coming to like it.

And also these two guys, not well known, but pretty fucking awesome on a guitar.

They are my favs in that classic, timeless way, that I know I will always enjoy them forever even when I'm 80.
