Seeing as I make more than the average person (around $70,000 basic then add on bonuses and overtime) at the age of 21, I'm doing fine.

Also, bare in mind the vast majority of your population are in employment, your protests mean nothing.

Well, I'd like you to bear in mind that to the global elite, the people engineering the decline of both our countries and attempting to establish global government wipe their asses with $70k. If you think you're anything more than their pawn you are sorely mistaken. I do realize that the majority is employed but even some of the employed have begun to take their blinders off. Cornel West (a professor at Princeton) is a regular at OWS-NY... He's been arrested 5 times this month lol and if the millions protesting were really that insignificant, why would the media go to such great lengths to denigrate them? Perhaps we will see the return of the dreaded hippie! I wish I could find that quote by the DoD director from the 1970s. Something along the lines of never again allowing protesters to shape social policy in the US... I'll edit it in if I can dig it up. A global mental shift needs to occur if we hope to preserve our species and trying to circumvent that change is insanity. I can understand not taking a stand, but to actively gun for the people trying to preserve the welfare of the common man? Irresponsible, offensive, ignorant. Open your third eye.

You all are crying for handouts.

Alls anyone really wants are laws that are passed for the country as a whole's benifet, not just for the super rich.

I say again. We want the laws to be in the benefit of EVERYONE. Not just the 1%. For 2 reasons. 1. Its 1%, thats not how you have a successful economy. You cant shit on 99% of the population and expect to thrive for very long. 2. We are the 99%, Theres more of usO_o O_o

Personally, I'm skeptical about this protest. Parasitism is what I see here, why should those who have worked hard to get where they are, give a free lunch to those who didn't? Why should I be punished for working hard to get where I am today by having my well earned pay cut down and given to some slob who might just spend it on alcohol and drugs. But that's only my opinion if these people are calling for more benefits; since I saw quite a few of these down with capitalism signs, this is what I'm assuming.

In all honestly I'm not seeing what these Occupy people are trying to accomplish, they keep talking about their fight against corporate greed and corruption on their website, but really that's not saying much. That's not presenting any solution to whatever their problem may be. These people seem to be there just to complain, not to do anything productive. If someone could tell me what exactly their goal is, in very specific non-generalized answers, I would appreciate it. Oh, and actually offering a solution would be good.

They are angry, and corporate run media in the US has everyone confused on whats real and what isn't. A leader will rise up soon enough and the angry will have direction.

The everyday middle class, and used to be middle class have everyright to be extremely pissed off. Cigarettes and Alchol is illegal, but in some states doctors are not allowed to perscibe Marijuana. In some states being found with so much as a single seed is a felony and can ruin your life. Limit jobs available. Make it much harder to become super rich, and being super rich is the only way to succeed in America. Education system is just one example how corporate greed effects the long term health of our nation. It only takes common sense and google to know that there is a high correlation between repeat felony offenders and High school dropouts. The numbers are stagering. As well as income and race. Its sick.

That rate, more than 600 prisoners for every 100,000 people, is by far the highest in the industrialized world. The U.S. incarcerates its citizens at a rate six times higher than Canada, England, and France, seven times higher than Switzerland and Holland, and ten times Sweden and Finland.

It can be looked at 2 ways.
    1. People in lower income areas are more likely to drop out of school, as well as go to jail/prison, and get jobs that move them out of whats considered poverty. The number don't lie. If you have money, then you more likely to not go to jail, graduate highschool, and get a job that supports you enough to be above the poverty line.
2.Too much Money made from investigating, trying, conviscating, and incarcerating people. Our jails and prisons are at max capacity. They have to in order to ensure the highest possible profits. They are funded on a inmate by inmate system. Empty spaces in jails is lost profits.

Prisoners in 2004, the Justice Department number-crunchers found that people sentenced for drug crimes accounted for 21% of state prisoners and 55% of all federal prisoners.

Imagine if all those prisoners were not in jail. Our tax dollars would not be going to the private and state owned jails. Lots of money saved, money that wouldnt have to be taken from medicare and education.

Now image if the $1,268,254,911,000 that we have spent on the wars in the middle east didnt go to the companies like haliburton(Dick cheney was former CEO). Imagine if it went to education. The sports and music programs could all be returned to schools, and they both improve students graduation rates. Source and Source.
A little insight. 20 years ago in the military, other servicemen did everything for you. Other soldiers sized your boots, fed you food, filled your papers, especially if you were deployed overseas. Now civilians do all of that even in iraq and afganistan. You know why? Because Haliburton gets paid alot of our tax dollars just to provide those services. Our tax dollars spent on a company that is 405 owned by the former vice president.
The Carlyle group which is the overhead company of Lockheed and martin(the company that makes alot of military weapons equipment) has ties to both the bin laden family and the bush family. They get paid alot because we are at war in the middle east.Thats why we picked the middle east. Its the one place were fighting has and will be going on for a long time. Its a guaranteed gravy train, but in the process its killing our young men and women and wasting our tax dollars. Wanna save money? Stop fighting useless wars. Then tax the rich just as much if not a little more than the middle and low classes. Then spend wisely with social programs, that are effective and provocative.

Ill say it one more time so everyone sees it.

I say again. We want the laws to be in the benefit of EVERYONE. Not just the 1%.

That's not what I asked for though, is it? I asked for specfic legislation which prohibited the working class from being a sucess. All you've done is hilight a well known loop-hole which the majority of people would take.

The law requires people who live in the UK to pay a proportionate amount of income tax, 20%-50% depending on how much you earn. This is significantly less if you live abroad or spend the majority of your time in another country. Obviously with trans-national millionaires you're bound to have interests overseas, especially to Asia and US, so you'll spend most of your time out of the country. That is why the majority of huge earners will spend less money on income tax.

I don't see how this in any shape or form affects the working class or poor people in the country seeing as there is no correlation between people making money and people losing money.

Also bare in mind, why should someone pay extra cash for benefits they wouldn't get, such as healthcare, public transport, education etc...when they spend 9 months abroad?
