I've been debating if I should head down there or not...

some of my friends have been going down there to support and such.

I'm considering going down there today...

Has anyone gone over there or somewhere similar in your area if you're not from New York?

You should go. I'm sure you'd just be standing around being bored, but at least you'd look cute. And I love watching the news and seeing cute people get arrested.

    This is fucking disgusting.
    Fuck fox news.

Im convinced the tea party is the governments way of controlling us. A group to funnel those that are pissed off. They know they cant stop the anger so they try to get you to conform to one group. That's the beauty of the bi partisan system. Even if everyone's mad at the republicans, most are just democrats. If you follow the beliefs of one party then you can easily be controlled.

Im high so sorry if my attempt to not sound like a liberal nutjob failed terribly.\

I went to Occupy Los Angeles a week or two ago... Some people were awesome, some people had their heads so far up their own asses I was surprised they could still be considered human. I met up with a couple friends that have been down there for a month now and we blazed a few bowls in their tent, played some guitar, and terrified passersby with civilized political discourse. I saw a lot of love for Ron Paul and a glimmer of hope for the future which is what I guess I was looking for anyways. The mayor was out there handing out ponchos in an attempt to brown-nose, but then again... Maybe he's legit. The Feds are coming in and trying to shut down our dispensaries, and it isn't a secret that California looooves their weed. Ummm... 10th Amendment anyone? Its not a subject for debate, you either care about the country or you don't... And if you don't have a strong political viewpoint, stay far away. They'll eat you alive. You must thirst for intelligent discussion. You must not believe the lie that America is a Democracy (51% taking away the rights of 49%). We are a Constitutional Republic (99% has no say about 1%).

Before this becomes too long-winded, if it hasn't already, I guess what I'm saying is, if you're not pissed off then you aren't paying attention... And if you are paying attention, and aren't pissed off... Then you aren't paying attention.

Mel is right... Just rain ponchos. But if you like punk, I'll cut a hole in a plastic sheet for you <3

Well if you guys stop spending all your money on weed and wasting time getting high, maybe you could do something more productive... Maybe something smart... kinda like those innovators who have had brilliant ideas, put them into practice and made a shitload of money and now you are complaining that they have too much money.

Well, considering the hole we've spent ourselves into when weed wasn't legalized and the fact that taxes from weed has reduced the state deficit by 50 million, as well as the fact that it opens neural pathways in the brain as well as alleviating the symptoms of everything from acid reflux to epilepsy... I'm gonna go ahead and write off that post as the ramblings of someone who has been severely uninformed by the mainstream media. Your argument (for lack of a better word) is chock full of generalizations with no facts contained in it... At all. What I'm trying to say is, you're an idiot and should probably stop talking before you embarrass yourself further.

If you work hard your whole life to earn a living and your living doesn't take from the opportunity for other to succeed financially then the problems not with you. The problem is with those who steal from others. Ex. AIG, Goldman and sachs, lockheed and martin, Halliburton ect ect.

Its not their fault your family hasn't tried harder in the past. There are also examples of people who come from nothing to become a success story. Richard Branson is an example, why should he have to donate his mass fortune to people who are too busy being stoned and relying on dole money?

Work harder? These are Americans you are talking to. We are entitled to the best things in life without working for them.
LOL @ "get a better job" You know why people don't have jobs in America? It isn't because 'the jobs aren't there', it's because they are unwilling to take a position that pays them less than $15 an hour. They refuse to work at Burger King or check-out at Target, then they get mad when they see Hispanics working all these bullshit jobs that they didn't want in the first place. I gotta pay my water bill. Fuck yeah, I'll take that $7.50 an hour. $7.50 to flip burgers is a lot more than I'd make standing in a crowd with a bunch of angry 'poor' people.

I'm in the process of trying to find a way to make money doing stuff I enjoy doing. Do you know anyone who'd like to pay outrageous amounts of money for old lady crafts and/or crappy drawings? I feel certain there is an audience for colorful crochet blankets, but I don't think they know how to use a computer. *think think think*

Plenty of Americans work for less than 15 an hour, but you cant expect them to be happy about it when Its next to impossible to raise a family above poverty with a job like that. Harder to keep your kids in good schools so they can learn and escape the problems that plague low poverty areas. America used to have a middle class. Its disappearing. And the system is designed to keep others down when this is supposed to be the land of opportunity. Alls anyone really wants are laws that are passed for the country as a whole's benifet, not just for the super rich.

Its not their fault your family hasn't tried harder in the past. There are also examples of people who come from nothing to become a success story. Richard Branson is an example, why should he have to donate his mass fortune to people who are too busy being stoned and relying on dole money?

You must not know anyone that I know. I know plenty of people who have worked hard their whole lives and made it to a decent point financially. They lost their jobs and now cannot no matter how hard they try, find one to pay the same. Ask any business owner. The job market is rough, Everyone is overqualified.

What about all the young adults who spend alot of time and money at school who cannot find a job in their fields?

Things are not what they used to be, and its not the middles classes fault its not. Its the people who lobby for laws that help themselves but damage the country as a whole, and the politicians who get bought by them. Obama promised to get rid of the lobbyest. Ha, pipe dream.

I personally am in sales and have never been without a job for more than a few days/hours. Not everyone has the same skill set, I know plenty of my friends are much smarter than me, more skilled with their hands, many of you with electronics and ect, but none of my friends can get jobs. They tried for months than gave up. Now most of them are going nowere, and its partly their fault, and if everyone was in the same boat it would be different. Its hard to see others have it so easy and you have to work 100x harder. Sure a few standouts will make a shitty hand work, but you cant expect everyone to be phenomenal. Thats why its a middle class. The average guy should be able to succeed averagely, but he cant. The average guy is now the poor guy.

I enjoy how Frizzle weighs with a response I'd expect from Herman Cain('t read) even though he isn't American, and is probably far from rich. "If you're poor blame yourself" I bet ya make the big bucks with your job as a beat cop eh? I'm convinced he's just a very immersed troll, do not feed. Could also just be an idiot, the jury is still out on that one.

Lets kick the logistics America: The jobs have been shipped overseas and we're living nothing more than a service sector lie. The American dream decomposed over 50 years ago... The people are left without opportunity and without direction, which is just the way this country's elite like it. With no opportunity, the desire to DO manifests itself, usually in a negative way... Which is great for the rich since it keeps our prison-war-consumer economy afloat. Those are your three options: Sell things a Taiwanese child made, become a pawn in the US's never-ending Risk game, or sit in a cell... alive in a grave. We've become so swaddled in the blanket of rules and regulations the government has tied us down with that we have nowhere left to go. Lets say I want to start a business, whats the first step? Well, first you'll need to set up a week-long lawyer session to navigate the bureaucracy jungle; permits, regulations, things that we're told are for our safety when in actuality they do nothing but circumvent the free market... Once your lawyer ponies you up with everything you'll need, you take a trip down to the permit office and hand over more of your money to shady defacto arms of our government monster. You won't miss them for long either, if you magically find the unlimited resources to push through this assault on your pocketbook they'll still be back for more. Fees upon fines with a delicious tax topping... Am I saying businesses shouldn't pay taxes? No, that's insanity (though Bank of America and Government Electric might disagree) But I don't think starting a business should require the exorbitant amount of money that it does now thanks to our regulation blanket. I feel so much safer, don't you? The story is much the same for anyone attempting to go to college, you have to spend money to make money and therein lies our biggest fallacy.

So what happens if you decide that you just want to sell some vegetables from your backyard or homemade pie? Or even just some lemonade? Not hyperbole by any stretch. Nanny Sam wants his cut. Its quite mafia-esque and the fact that the American people have held their heads down and taken it right up the starfish for this long is nothing short of embarrassing. The founding fathers would be outraged at what we've been conditioned to put up with... A revolution is long overdue, but if you'd like to continue being a workhorse for the upper crust while being fed scraps from their table you're completely within your rights to do it... But people have started to wake up and realize that *gasp* the government doesn't have their best interests at heart. Across the world protests of this style are ongoing, we won't stand for the lies and we won't be placated any longer. Most will continue their menial jobs, but we'll see how quickly they come around when the dollar finally collapses for good. Its lost 95% of its value since the Federal Reserve (which is a privately owned bank) was implemented in 1913. I'd like to close with a quote from economist Herbert Stein and a final thought about his words...

"If something cannot go on forever, it will stop" A deceptively poignant and astute statement. We can't figure out a way to curb our addiction to spending our children's futures by spending money we don't have? (that's what derivatives are by the way, money your children might make someday... Maybe) No problem. We don't have to stop it because it will stop itself. If you're coming along the road toward a collapsed bridge, you'll certainly stop, one way or the other. But it makes a difference, at least to you (and the nation), whether you manage to skid to a halt 4 yards before the cliff edge, or come to rest at the bottom of the chasm. The protesters are awake, we're the ones pumping the brakes... Nations aren't too big to fail. Look at Greece... Of course our situation is the inverse of theirs, there the state destroyed the banks, here its the banks that are raping the state. For Gods sake people, open your eyes, wake the fuck up. EVOLVE!

Seeing as I make more than the average person (around $70,000 basic then add on bonuses and overtime) at the age of 21, I'm doing fine.

Also, bare in mind the vast majority of your population are in employment, your protests mean nothing.
