Thanks to Robots for doing an awesome job running the SOTW
Sorry to see that one person decided they wanted to ruin the fun.
Ive decided that for the next SOTW at least, we won't have any prizes handed out as a result of whats happened this week (and in previous ones). I want to show that we dont tolerate the bullshit and drama that comes from cheating and i figure if theres no prize, then hopefully, no one will have incentive to think about cheating. Im hoping that this wont put any of you off from entering just because there's no lucrative pixelated prize up for grabs. Remember, you will still be entered into the SOTW hall of fame and then eventually, into the SOTY (sig of the year) competition, which we are looking to hold in the coming months. This WILL include prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd AND a special prize for the signature of my choice too. (more info on this will come soon).
In saying that though, i have been happy with the sort of constructive criticism that has been offered by others lately. I think the rules thread has helped in this area.
Lets make this a regular competition (as we are looking to increase the number of future comps held on codex too) without the need for drama/conflict.
Good luck to all who decide to enter future SOTW's and WELL DONE to all who entered this round.

Honestly, doing that is the wrong way to handle it. Instead of acknowledging that cheating is a problem in any way, shape, or form, its better to punish them and continue on like we are supposed to. When we find people cheating to get past their trading post ban, or even, trading illegal goods. We just ban them, simple as that. A quick ban, nothing lost. The same thing can apply to the SoTW. Look at the past and everyone that has cheated. They've been DQ, and even one people who tried really hard to cheat, got banned for it. They can try and cheat, but history only shows that they are caught and punished. Its a great deterrent against cheating.
You can setup actual punishment rules against cheating. Such as, a verbal warning for the first time they vote for themselves, x month ban if they do it again. Creating duplicate accounts can mean x month ban, and maybe the staff can be swayed into a warn for that. Asking others to vote for you can be an x month ban. Things like that. Rather then letting them follow a "if I can't win, no one can" policy, just follow an "Cheat, and be punished policy". That way people still have an incentive to enter, and an incentive to not cheat as well.
(Maybe even create a SOTW Wall of Shame)
