Can I take a stock image and crop/filter it and enter? Cause I found some sick stocks on deviant that go good with at peril.

Yes but you must provide the originals so the panel can judge how much of a plagiarism it is.

I took a stock image, put a filter, changed the saturation, hue, and other levels, and added some other stuff. I didn't really manipulate the image that much, but I can say that it's distinctly not the image it was when it started.

i reckon im out of my league man. There have been a number of awesome gfx artists pop up in the comps now. I think i may retire haha. Im happy just looking after the sotw comps if anything

Honestly, I have been voting more for the topic of the sig than for the graphical quality. If I was voting purely on aesthetics, my votes would be much different. Maybe I'm in the minority though

I don't know what the saturation, hue, or other levels will do to the image (oblivious) so I can't tell you if that's enough . But what I can recommend is when you submit it, include the original and ask the runner if they think its acceptable. They can review the changes and decide if there is a difference in the image enough that it shouldn't be an issue. Since they won't be voting, you don't have anything to worry about
