I was browsing the auctions for a cheap buy, which sadly, I don't have much luck with.
Anyway, I was auctioning for a ghost paint brush because it was mega cheap, literally only about 66k.
Anyway so I'm eagerly awaiting for the time to tick by because I put in a bid when there was less than 30 mins left.

T_T I somehow lost the best. Some muffin mucker must have bid, literally last minute >_<
Anyone else loose simliar auctions? D: like you were 100% sure you'd get it? (I adopted a neopet and bought stuff from marketplace for it n' everything :'( )

Are you actually asking how or is that rhetorical? Somebody else bid after you. Unless you bid in the last 2 seconds that isn't surprising.

this is what i would do
1.Run 2 tabs 1st is the main auction page,2nd page is the item page that u are bidding on
2.Wait/Refresh until the item u bidding on is on the main page
3.Once noticed that the item is on the main auction page keep refreshing until u saw the item u bidding on is on the first few items which bidding is going to end
4.(Must be quick) Once u noticed is in the ending auction take note of the price
5.Go back to the 2nd tab place the bid slighty higher by then what the Minimum Increment is needed
6.wah la u won the auction

I have a grease monkey script auto bidder. In fact I've never used, so I don't know. Just search in the google and you will found.
Please, don't quote me about this.

How does one make money on auctions anyways? The prices are much, much more than TP or Shop Wizard.

Not all the time. You have to be patient, and always stalk the auctions.

Sometimes you'll find a great deal for an item that's lower than the TP and stuff.

Then you just sit and wait....and snipe a bid at the last second!

Or, for those who are lazy, you can use an auto-bidder :p
