So I got Blue Coat K9 put onto my laptop (Google it for more info; it's basically a very evil software to block websites) to block Neo among other sites (such codex here) by my parents. In the process of removing it, I began a System Image Restore from a System Repair disc I burned with the download here: http://cybernetnews....-recovery-disc/ (It's safe and actually seems pretty useful). I then backed up my computer (smart thing, as I can still do my essay like I'm supposed to be now) before beginning a System Image Restore. I began one and decided I should probably finish my essay first.
Then I stopped it, and now my laptop says "Missing Operating System" upon starting up.
Uh oh.
How can I get it to boot from CD/DVD? I have that system recovery disc with basic windows functions such as command prompt, system image recovery, and such, but it won't boot from it. I also have another DVD I burned from another website that's supposed to be a boot cd or something, but it's not working.
I also burned a CD of a trial (trial of the OS that's directly run from CD) and installation of Ubuntu (Linux), but I doubt I'd be able to boot from that either.

If it helps, my system was 64-bit Windows 7 and my computer is an Asus 13.5" or something like that.

Help please?

(I came on here because this is where the tech geniuses come to write programs to make Neopets "easier", so I'm sure someone here will have a solution.)

My friend has been saying before that she has a Windows 7 Installation Disk but I don't know if that will help seeing as I can't boot from CD/DVD.

Thank you so much in advance for your help!

(Not sure if this is the right forum, by the way.)

Check your BIOS and make sure the boot order specifies CD/DVD first before it tries to boot from the hard drive.

I've tried that, and it still doesn't work.
It can boot from everywhere else but the CD/DVD drive. The "Esc" key on the logo menu brings up the places it can boot from and my hard drive and external hard drive shows up fine but not the DVD/CD drive.

With a little work you might be able to install an OS from USB.
