I like the style of #1 the most, but I'm going to have to pick #7 because the caption made me D'Aww

Number 6 best fits my specific criteria of winning for this round. It seems to be the farthest from the original without using any other stock images, and it's still cute.

6 has the most potential... just the text ruins it. (I do appreciate the pen tooling, even though it's a little sloppy.)

My first impressions on the entries:

1 - Too messy and chaotic.
2 - Badly cut out raccoon, low quality gif.
3 - Cropping with text? And the text looks more like a watermark than text.
4 - The raccoon is messy.
5 - Ruined by the text.
6 - Ruined by the text.
7 - Cropping with text? I do appreciate the use of an adjustment layer (or few...)
8 - Now, if you have to rely on MakeAGIF.com, you really shouldn't be doing this.
9 - Too bright, almost becoming C4D spam. Text doesn't help much either.

It just unnecessary and unhelpful. Constructive comments and criticisms are cool, but just pointing out what they think someone did poorly isn't needed in a voting thread.
Not too sure why people are sticking up for him when something like: "Now, if you have to rely on MakeAGIF.com, you really shouldn't be doing this." is said, if someone wants to enter they can enter whatever the fuck they want.

The whole process of voting and choosing one image to vote for is criticism. Posting what you thought while doing so doesn't hurt...why so pissed? O.o

It's discouraging to new people who want to enter the sotw, when we should be doing the opposite.

Discouraging? It's a competition, if you can't handle people commenting on your work then don't bother entering. Or we could give everyone gold stars and praise everyone as a winner like they do in schools for children.
