History Channel has started a new series that just started on Sunday about jousting. The series is called Full Metal Jousting and it looks as though this is going to be an amazing come back for one of mankind's most played and well-known sports to date. You can watch the full first episode on the site.

Episode 1: Knowles Vs. Edwards

This series is pitting man vs. man in the same classic jousting style play very similar to that of our English ancestors. Watch these warriors battle it out on horseback.

History's first extreme sport is back. There is more than honor on the line as 16 of the nation's toughest riders compete for cash.

What do you guys think? Has anyone else been watching this series yet?

How brutish.

This shows just how concerned the History Channel is with history.

People still joust in England, at castles all over the country.
People still joust in America, at Renaissance Faires all over the country.

Which makes this a cash-in, not a comeback.

Woot. My boyfriend and I love this show.

TEAMRED. <3

I really liked Knights of Mayhem also. It was on demand for like a week, then went away. I was sad. :(

Personally I am siding with Team Black. I think that they stand a better chance of winning especially if you look at the line-up for them.

Tonight's episode had Hilting vs Stiles.

  • Hilting (Black Team): 21
  • Stiles (Red Team): -4
Stiles had to come in after James' injury during training. After switching horses after the 6th pass he still managed to score 0 points. In total he scored 1 point for landing once on the Gritted Grain Guard and -5 when he completely lost control of his steed in the 6th pass.

I edit and it deletes my post. -_-

Tonight was Hiltman vs Stiles after James suffered an injury during practice and got three staples in the side of his head.

  • Hiltman: 21
  • Stiles: -4

Even after switching horses after the 6th pass Stiles was unable to score. Stiles touched the Gritted Grain Guard once and scored one point then in the 6th pass loss complete control of his steed and lost 5 points. Hiltman broke 4 lances and touched the Gritted Grain Guard for a total of 21 points.

I think the quality of the programs on the educational channels(discovery, ngc) has been steadily going down for the past few years. ...or am I just growing old and getting that "things were better in my day" syndrome?Posted Image
