So you want me to commit two and a half hours of my life without even knowing what it's about? So you can know what I think? You could at least give us a sentence or two about the film. You don't have to ruin every plot point or whatever, but give us something.

I just went ahead and copied the Youtube description since it's better than nothing:

Interviews with scientists and authors, animated bits, and a storyline involving a deaf photographer are used in this docudrama to illustrate the link between quantum mechanics, neurobiology, human consciousness and day-to-day reality.

It's all bullshit. There is nothing of value here. The entire film is like a self-help book, but made to look scientific.

The only cool part is the double slit experiment. But that doesn't mean I can magically wish a basketball to go into the hoop.

That's why i said let me know what you guys think.
I thought the same thing... Even though the science sais that its possible for a basketball to be everywhere at once doesn't mean it will ever happen.

Its sort of like that one book.... umm.... OH YEAH! "The Secret"

basically saying that "thoughts" or consciousness effects the way we perceive the world around us.
and that we do it all the time and we just don't know it.
It still doesn't help us because no matter how hard i try i cannot run threw a wall no matter how hard i think about it.

    I like it though.

-edit. Yeah well the double slit experiment is the best part of the video. That's why i said if you don't want to watch the video at least watch that part. I posted the whole thing in case you guys wanted to see it though.

I mean, It's very interesting. I can't vouch for it's validity tho, being only a wee-high school student. Hypothetically, if it was true/valid, it's still too far for my brain to comprehend and not really worth thinking over much.Although, as I said, it's very interesting. I'ts just... deep deep, for the human head, imho.

Even if it was proven to be true, I doubt it would change my view of the world at all. With our brains, it's just much easier to go on like we have been. xD

    /still watching

It's all bullshit, as has been said.

Quantum mechanics doesn't say that it's possible for a basketball to be everywhere.

I got really pissed off at the idea of a quantum experiment being presented in the form of a cartoon. Thanks guys, make the field look even more like hogwash by making the speaker a crackpot professor in a superhero outfit

But then I understood that it's a small chunk of a much larger video (that I am not going to watch), and I decided to let it slide

Sweeney is right, it is bullshit.

While quantum mechanics does force particles to be considered as waves, the important aspect in a first order approximation would be the wavelength. A basketball is, compared with individual molecules or particles small than that, fairly massive so its wavelength is going to be small enough that even a partial quantum calculation would be considered meaningless. Even a modest basketball at 1 meter/second has a wavelength of around 10^-33 meters. This is smaller than anything we can detect, and just the random motions of the basketball from being in the atmosphere, or from internal thermal energy are going to be significantly larger than this effect, so it is completely unimportant in understanding the dynamics of a basketball.

Basically every claim in the film is wrong, and generally so obviously wrong if a person has had a course on quantum mechanics that even doing a calculation is unnecessary.

I basically saw the video as sort of like those "________ for dummies" Books.
Doesn't really teach you anything it just sparks your curiosity enough that you might actually want to go take a course or learn some real material.
It's a dumb ed down version of quantum mechanics.

No, it's a wrong version of quantum mechanics.

I've never watched the video, but everything I've heard is that it's bullshit quantum mysticism.

I have this movie. I watch it when I'm baked.

It's like quantum mechanics for smelly hippies! In that it doesn't make much sense but this movie makes it seem totally awesome
