Hi guys,

My pc atm is sort of dying and is run by a 500 Watt Psu, an Althon II x2 215 Pcu, a GT 520 2048mb Gpu and Crappy 2GB of ram.

I want some tips on whether I should upgrade or just go for a new pc? The motherboard is an old narra6 model so It doesn't support much more but I'd like your thoughts?

Wanna be able to play Crysis 2 at 60+ Fps on high as the Most Intensive thing i'd use on my pc, upgraded or new.

So Any ideas?

With those specs, and wanting to play crysis 2 at 60+ fps, I'd say you're about due for a new PC.
As far as graphics go, you're probably looking at a 560ti 448 core, or one of AMD's new 7850/7870 cards.
Processor wise, you can't really beat the i5 2500k, when combined with a hyper 212 EVO is easily overclocked to near 5GHz.
Anything else that you need some assistance on, feel free to message me about it.

That motherboard supports more than you might think

You can go up to a quad core phenom II, not the fastest cpu but still not bad - you can get a 3.7 gHz for about $150
I am assuming it's PCI 2.0, couldn't find specs on this specifically but since it's 1x16 and it's old I am assuming it's 2.0. You can get a pretty decent GPU for that board for ~$200 with 1gb DDR5
And you have 2 DDR3 sockets so you could easily upgrade your RAM almost as high as you would want. 2x4 gb would only be like $40

So total about $400 to upgrade, that is assuming your HD is still useable (and less than 3 years old) and you don't need a new monitor (ofc you need a new monitor but that's besides the point).

I7 > I5

Only advantage the i7 has over the i5 is hyperthreading, and unless he's going to be encoding a shitton of video, or has about 100$ extra to blow, theres really no need for it.

First. Lets start with no. The i7 has plenty of advantages over the i5, including being twice as powerful. Its vastly better then anything that tries to compete with it. Its an upgrade, its a completely new category....

Secondly, You said, "you really can't beat" and the i7 beats it. Over and over and over again.

Obviously for his needs, he could easily settle for the i5. But that can be beat, easily.
