Being the one benefited by this decision, I don't think it should be that way. I don't think anyone voted for that one thinking it was Cyo the one who made it, and that's what we are looking to avoid with this rule...

I have to agree with nymh, it clearly states in the rules that you're not allowed to include your username in the submission so his entry should've been automatically disqualified... and not included in the voting.

It's not about him not collecting his prize, it's about his entry being allowed to be voted on, giving us all the impression that it was perfectly eligible (and, presumably him too judging by his reaction) and then after the fact being disqualified. It should have been rejected upon submission if it was ineligible to win.

I didn't know Cyo submitted that one though to be honest until this thread. I assumed someone had just taken a random screenshot of an admin loling at the downtime. So I feel as though his signature should have been allowed and he should have been eligible for his prize. Because it's not like Cyo himself outright said that he had submitted that particular entry during voting. And even more, since they did let us vote on it, he definitely should be able to receive his prize.

My entry didn't fit very well with the theme xD. Pamplemousse was calling for last minute entries so I just took a picture of a gelert I drew from 7 years ago and put some text on it. Was the most apocalyptic thing I could find from my neopets drawings :<

Ok well if you DO want your prize Cyo, please send me a PM. We can discuss things there. I allowed the entry on the proviso that Cyo was told by Pamplemousse that it was ineligible to win a prize if he placed (purely for the fact that it had his username in it and was made by him). I don't know what was said between the two or if she even PM'ed him to let him know.

In future, all entries are required not to have any username reference in them whether theyre made by the person with the username used in the signature or not. This should clear that mistake (by me) up. Sorry for the confusion as to what was supposed to happen. If anyone still has a problem with that PM me, i'm more than willing to discuss the matter.

Anyway, congrats to the winners and I look forward to next SOTW.
