It crashes quite a bit.
Just be sure to keep an eye on it.

Yeah you're going to have to restart the program a few times for it to complete the whole thing. It tends to get stuck on certain parts but restarting generally solves the issue most of the time. It will take all up about 1-2 hours total depending on what time interval you set to start with.

I am trying to do this, but it crashes on determing my current step. just shuts down.
Is it because I am fairly new to NP with my current account? otherwise, I don't know what's the problem

You may need to jump into the plot manually on the account first to see if there is anything it could be getting stuck on and try to maybe advance the plot (manually) one step onward. Then, just restart the program and see what happens?

that's probably a dumb question, but... I'm trying to run this on mac, I've saved the file as altador.rb as said, but whenever I type 'ruby altador.rb' it says "ruby: No such file or directory -- altador.rb (LoadError)"

okay, so I started the plot myself, got a little bit excited and went on and on because... well, because I could. Can't get the map, clicking the picture won't work, and I got stuck with the orchid, so I started RUBY again.
Worked fine, started about getting a book, I was nowhere near needing a book, but hey, who cares?
So at the end it started shifting the neopoint, 373, 250 etc, and then chrashed. Started it again, crashed again, and again, and again.
SO I don't have the map, or the orchid, I do have some other stuff.
I'm confused, what should I do?

okay, edit:
I figured out what my problem was, (my pin on the bank), and got stuck at the vaoulus. Doing that part by hand now. Then I'll continue by hand, because I found a better guide

double edit: I got lazy again when I had to flip switches, and I started RUBY again. Dunno if I hurt her feelings by only using her when I feel like it, but it keeps crashing again. It tells me it determines my current step, that switching a lot of switches will take a long time, then it will crash.

I get the same thing even after restarting it multiple times. Could it be a browser issue? My user agent uses Mozilla.

I used this program the other day, and what can I say?   It was a rather wonderful experience.  After doing the plot manually a year ago and having to painstakingly plot all those horrid little constellations, this program is, in one word, exceptional.

 

It got stuck in two places for me.  Healing the Vaeolus, and purchasing an item with the Libra symbol on it.  So I did both of those steps by hand.

 

Thank you so much for creating this program.  You've saved me hours of terrible torture!

It still works just completed it a few mins ago. Really nice work on the program and thank you for making it.

Seems to be working okay for me, its just taking FOREVER when it says its flipping some switches, is this normal?

You'd be best to restart it if it takes longer than 20 minutes at the switches point. It should resume progress from that point, if not you may need to go into the plot manually and clear it from there.

I'm having a hard time opening this in ruby, i'm on a mac as well.  it can't seem to find the file and i'm not too..... familiar with this. 

 

any tips?
