I just don't get it. Why are NC items so cool and why do people go crazy over NC Cash? In my opinion, it pretty much ruined the site. Why the hell did pets ever even need wearables? I don't remember ever caring about that when the site started, it just became a way to increase revenue. And it's not like you are supporting the creators anymore (which at one point you could talk directly with them), now you are supporting Viacom. Who the hell cares about them.

But, not to side track, the only thing I really want to know is why you all care so much about NC Cash / Items.

Thank you! I got terribly upset when NC was created.
It gave neopets a bigger class separation. Having stuff that some people can buy, while leaving the people who can't afford to place money on a childrens online game in the background.

I love neopets, but they sold out big time.

Well, the way I see it, if they're not making enough money off the site then..... bye bye Neopets. They could have came up with something a little more creative and interactive than NC but, oh well I guess.
Enough people go bat shit over it so I guess they don't really need anything more creative.

It is silly how so many people get excited over this crap, but hey..... it's cute and animated and it sparkles. xD

While it may make those in charge seem more greedy, I feel this is the best way to implement any sort of cash system in all situations. Instead of wearables, they could have potentially made the decision to sell expensive items such as morphing potions, hidden tower items, or even neopoints. The wearables do not affect gameplay or the economy in any way, so I am unaffected by their inclusion in the game.

NC filled me with buyers remorse, so many shiny/good looking pixels then I try it on and it looks like crap or over animations ruin it.

It makes me sad to see pets that are cluttered with NC items and ridiculous masks and objects floating around. I remember the old neopets, so much cleaner. But I am all for cool NC backgrounds and foregrounds though.

It's good to have something in life to get excited about. Otherwise, with all the hatred and hopelessness in the world, I might as well just slit my wrists. I'm sure every single person here has something useless in their life that they get excited about, and that they spend a fair amount of time and money on. Games, clothing, alcohol, books, cars, lottery tickets, drugs. What seems worthwhile to you might seem stupid and a waste of time to someone else. My sister buys a new purse every week. I think it's a ridiculous waste, but she seems really happy about it.

Some people love their Neopets. Some people love dressing up their Neopets. It's really not hard to understand that these people would be interested in spending actual money (or not their actual money) on items they want for their pet. I have spent my actual hard earned money on NC cards, and I have given most of them away to people I know will get a little bit of happiness out of it.

For me it really depends on the item. I am not going to turn my nose up at content that took many, MANY, more hours to design that I have to pay a little extra for.

I am and have been a Neopets Premium member for years so I do pay to play and I also purchase NC when I have some spare cash just to get stuff that really entices me.



I would have paid $5.00 USD for the Lavender Trellis Background and still felt satisfied that my money went to get some very well designed content. I get to play a cheesy game of Blumaroll that I can manipulate my roll to get the prize tier I want and I get NC items that is special content?

As a long time Premium Subscriber I for one am not opposed to NC as I feel it is finally a way that paying members are getting positive perks outside of supporting the site with modest contributions. I mean I love the Super Shop Wizard but seriously... that is really the only true perk to being Premium.
