I'm also currently reading through the books (only a few chapters in to the second one though).

I didn't care for Oberyn at first, but I love him now, and I would love to see him kill the Mountain somehow. I can't see him doing it with a sword, maybe some other means; he seems cunning and full of hatred, so I have faith in him.

Also, I think season one's Mountain looked a lot more like someone you wouldn't want to fuck with than season four's.

I feel the same way. I love Tyrion and I hate that everyone blames him for things he didn't do just because he's a dwarf and a Lannister. He is one of the best characters in the series and definitely the best Lannister and since Oberyn is sticking up for him he's alright in my book.

Well, not to mention, I think that the Mountain is going to get shitcanned because he is a pretty flat character and isn't really contributing much to the story (anymore?).

I guess I can't say that with everybody that has died so far, since I can't even *remember* who all has died to analyze whether the above is true, but generally when a character has outlived their usefulness, it's time for them to go. We're still pretty new to Oberyn, and there's no way Tyrion's story is complete yet. Killing both of them wouldn't just make me go "wtf?!" in a truly surprised, didn't-expect-that sense, but it would leave so many loose ends.

Ok now watch as Oberyn is slashed and Tyrion is killed along with him. :(

I am so bothered about the fact that Littlefinger didn't say "Only Cat" instead of "Your sister" :o it just ruined the magic of that moment.

I want a place where book readers can complain about everything in the show, because I would totally be there all the time  :/

Are the books majorly different from the show? I've just ordered the books and waiting for them to be delivered, can't wait to read them.

Also majorly annoyed that we have to wait 2 weeks for the next episode!

Well, the first seasons were more similar.

The problem is, GRRM has written three great, one meh and one decent book. Now, They are at the end of book three, and since in books 4 and 5 we have A LOT of new characters, they have to introduce them slowly. So they are creating a lot of fillers.

The scene at Craster's keep? Filler. Yara (Asha in the books) trying to free her brother? Nope. Daaria bringing Dany flowers? WTH, he should be a cruel, badass, asshole sellsword and not a romantic womanizer.

I am majorly annoyed by the fact that the last book came out in 2011, and we don't know when the next book will be finished :/

You know... I have another series that I read the first 6 books in. There are supposed to be 8 in total. The 7th was supposed to be out in Fall of 2012. Pushed to December of 2013. They said it was totally finally gonna make it out April of 2014... Where the heck is my book???? grrrrrr.

But yeah... waiting is sucky. And what if the show catches up... Then what happens???

    I'd be there with you.
The writers of the show probably think their audience is so stupid that if Littlefinger said "Only Cat" we'd all think he literally meant he only loves his pet cat.

The writers of the show know what's supposed to happen, so we will see their version of the events before the actual creator's. Pretty messed up, right?

Ew. I'm not liking this at all. But I do always judge things I watch harshly after reading... so maybe it will be easier on them :p

I'm a really harsh judge of things that are made from a book too, like my favourite author growinig up was Darren Shan, and then they turned the vampires assisstant into a film and it was that awful i turned it off halfway through. This is the first time im going to be reading something after ive watched it on tv and i must admit i have no idea what my reaction to it is going to be!

I actually am about 2/3 of the way through the first book now. It is fantatstic. Almost like reading a completely different story. It is so insanely in depth. There is so much more to learn!

    ---

That would be the worst thing ever. The show is not bad, and we have some pretty good actors, but others... I just can't imagine the storyline of Jon Snow going further with Kit "troutface" Harrington. And what about R+L, will they do a spin-off or just show the audience a short, dumber version of this story?

(sorry, I am too dense to insert spoilers  )

@Rocket, that is amazing! I adore Disney style. :D

This is the first time I'm reading something after watching it also, but so far I am enjoying the books even more. I love the gritty sort of writing style.

Both are good picks. Game of Thrones would be better choice if you're looking for something that would be quicker to catch up on, and then continue watching current episodes. Breaking Bad is (all?) on Netflix, so you could watch the entire series at your leisure.

Games of thrones is great I only wish they would follow the books just a little more and that the fight scenes would be a bit more Spartacus esk

I've watched 3 seasons of BB and I found it meh. Obviously well done, and the story was interesting, but I just couldn't care less about Walter's future and his life.

In Game of Thrones I empatized with the characters from the first time - but having read the books, it was quite obvious this would've happened.

Whe I was 10, I thougth Eragon was the best fantasy book in the world  :lol2:
