Am I the only person who is a bit disappointed with the first 3 episodes?

 

I feel that a lot has not been explained with some of the new people (yes iv read the books so know more about them but the wife is really struggling) and there seems to be a lot less flesh and gore on show.  Is it a case that they are just building up to things meh maybe but that to me feels like we have taken a step back in the show.

I've really enjoyed the first four episodes. I'm a non-book reader, but I think there have been a ton of great character moments and a lot of buildup for some more action-packed episodes later in the season, hopefully. Plus, I actually haven't hated all the shit at the Wall. Thanks, Stannis!

I agree, this season seems to have started really slow. I was disappointed by eps 1, 2, and 4. It seems nothing is really happening yet, other than that BS at the end of the last epi (4), grrr... but hopefully they'll make up for it with the rest of the season. I'm just kind of starting to worry that they're selling out now, catering to the Hollywood masses instead of staying true to the source material. Oh welllllll, it happens. $$$

He'd be a much more exciting character if they'd show him and his party more often. I've read passed where we are in the show, hopefully they do him as much justice on the show as they do in the book.
