You're going to love the books so much! I made the mistake of starting in the middle of the book series, because I'm lazy and stubborn, but they are really well written. I've been reading the latest book for quite some time now and no spoilers, but this is going to be one hell of a season...assuming the show remotely follows the stories timeline.

I've been about 1/2 - 3/4 of the way through the first book for like 2 years now.. but I think I want to read them all consecutively now. wish me luck.

I had the "luck" of reading the books before the show started. Now all I can do is complain about all the changes

I heard he's taking this whole year off from helping with the show since it's apparently taking a different turn anyway so that he can finish the book to release early early next year? Maybe I'm pulling this from my arse. I could swear I read that though.

 

I really hope he hops on and finishes the whole series soon... I'm dying

This is correct, I read it in a recent article too. He is also concentrating more on a new TV series as well, I think?

We will see new content in this season probably. I mean a lot of storylines have almost caught up with the books.

Honestly I don't care about spoilers from the show anymore, as long as I get to know the story, but it annoys me when they dispatch from one part of Westeros to another and change oh so many things.

And Sansa... if what I think is happening is happening, she will be wed/betrothed to Ramsay instead of the poor Jeyne.

 

And yeah, I love how GRRM is taking some time off to finish his book(s) and in the meantime announces that he will be working on a new series about a sci-fi author. Flawless logic.

Apparently they are departing from the same storyline so it won't always be the same...idk. This season does surpass the books afaik. It'll be interesting to see.

He said that there are people on the internet who have figured out everything. The entire plot. He just needs to tell one of put it in his will that one of these people is to finish the series.

Ya.... if you go on the subreddits or tumblr some peoples theories are just very far out. He's stated certain facts about the GoT 'universe' so to speak and some of these people are still going off the deep end with their theories. As if the plot takes place in someones butthole.

I actually enjoy the theories, call me mad. Some of them are created just for fun tho. time travelling fetus anyone?
