Title says it all.

How has Neopets affected your life?

Discuss.

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

For me, Neopets has been a great part of my childhood. I used to head over to my cousin's house (we live near each other) and play Neopets with him. Those were the days.

It's caused me to become the ultimate of losers, hanging out on a cheating website for a children's game just to get an edge against the economy and how rigged half the activities are.

I guess it affects people in its own way.

Like I said, it has helped me bond with my cousins and is was a big part of my childhood.

Haha I was joking around a little bit (well what Tailwind said is like 80% of the truth for me)

Basically neopets has ruined my exams/revision :p I can't believe I got back into it again. But when I was a kid it was a nice escape and I used to love playing all the flash games especially Jelly Blobs of Doom :)

Yeah. I shouldn't be getting back into Neopets again. Especially since my finals are at the end of this year. :<

When I was a child, some friends said to me that there's funny website called Neopet, and then I started to play it.
Until now I have played it for 10 years (during the time I tried to give it up and wanted to have a normal life, because I was tempted to it!)
However, trying to untie your life with Neo seems like a cheese cake without cheese~ I still cant do it, thus controlling my time and regard it as my relaxing way :)

Up untill a couple months ago Neopets seemed like a way to pass time and an overall stress reliever, but nowadays it seems to help me make car payments every now and then and even helped me purchase some university books this semester... Either way it will remain a big part of my childhood. :kirby:

When I first started, it was easy to get lost in the games and stuff. It took my mind off of how much I hated my life. Now, it's just a fun little time-waster that can take as much or as little time as I want it to.

Hm, I used to play it for fun. Now I earn legit money from it, so it's not as much of a time-waster as it SHOULD be. ;P

I'm the same. When in the game it was just me, weren't on a gaming cheat website I was just one player out of a few in my school - and enough people hating my status here on Neopets but after several years I'm exactly the same.

I started playing Neo when I was a kid. I was in a really active guild and then the leader left and somehow I got selected to take over. The members would always bitch about wanting a fancy layout so I learned how to code. Now, 11 years later, I create websites for a living. If it weren't for Neo I never would have gotten into coding and probably wouldn't be as nerdy as I am in RL. I guess that's something.

    neopets is my "real life"

as well, yeah, neo IS the reason i ever got interested in graphics, and if it weren't for neo, i wouldn't know how to code.

It's the British English spelling too lol

Same here with the no real life because I have social aniexty, I find it hard to socialise.
It gives me something to do instead.

The only thing I've gotten out of Neopets is typing way faster than other people my age and a small amount of knowing how to code html.

Because of neopets I no longer have to sit and study for hours my English lessons and it made me more creative. Whoah positive.

Same here. I only learned basic coding, but enough to make pretty stuff ^_^ My friends were all surprised xD

Then again, neo also took up a large chunk of my time that I could have spent reading (forget studying, I never do that anyway)

It was a huge part of my childhood, but it never really took over. I was always playing sports and being involved in other things, so it was more of something for me to do when I was home from activities and done with all of my work.

When I got a little bit older, in my early teens, I used it as a way to make money online. Subsequently, joining Neocodex taught me graphics, programming, etc.

Now, I use those skills to make my money online.
So, I guess Neopets did a lot for me.

Great to see the different ways Neopets has affected people.

    :)
