We have a shiny new subscriptions system called the "Store" in the tabs above. This new system is where we will be selling our advanced memberships from now on. The new system is equipped with far more features on the backend for us to use. To get things started and make the transition slow an easier to digest, we've kept the same packages and mostly the same layout as before.

There are a few features that I want to discuss though.

Shopping cart
You can now select multiple items to purchase in one go. This doesn't make much sense at the moment with advanced membership subscriptions, but in the future, we might offer other products that you can purchase. The shopping cart makes our site feel more like what you would see with other e-commerce sites.

Client area
You now have a client area where you can view all of your transactions, invoices, billing information, etc. in one place. You can access it by clicking your name at the top right and clicking client area. It is the one location that contains all of your payment information and history.

There are also a few housekeeping related items to be discussed:

Previous transactions
It seems to be non-trivial to transfer over all our previous transaction information. Your subscriptions will continue working and we have this data in our database, but getting the new system to understand it is a bit more tricky than we had originally anticipated. Until we figure it out, please feel free to use your current advanced membership (even if it has expired). New subscriptions should go through without any hitches.

Current transactions that have failed
Some of you may have tried to make purchases in the early hours of the new system. While we were getting things set up, these early transactions may have failed. You should be able to go into your client area and delete those invoices and redo the transaction now and it should work. If you're still having problems, please PM me and we'll work it out together :).

As always, if you see anything on the site that isn't working quite the way it should, please let me know :). I hope you guys enjoy using the new system. You won't notice much of a change right now, but it does set up the platform for us to do some cool things with it in the future :).

You guys consider an option for people to transfer "Advanced" to other members?

We're looking into that. I think it's the most requested feature actually. At the moment, we're just going to keep doing things the old way so that we don't change too much at once. If you want to buy someone else advanced, just send a staff member a PM and they'll take care of things for you :).

You know how it says $14.25 Every 3 months underneath, does that mean it takes $14.25 every 3 months automatically?

Did the prices go up or was it always $27 for 6 months?

It should be a non-recurring payment.

When we first introduced subscriptions I think it was $18 for a 6 month subscription but that was too much of a bargain. :p

    Oh okay, that's good.

lol wow, that is cheap! It went up more recently right? As grapes said it was like $22 or something.

Either way, I'm looking to get a 6 month subscription after mines runs out :) $27 is still decent.

$24 would have been more likely than $22 because that would be $4/month while $22 would be $3.6666/month which would be a bit illogical. :p

We accept PayPal at the moment. We're looking into accepting more payment methods in the future, including NPs :p. If you have any issues signing up for advanced membership, let me know and I'll do my best to help out :)

Is there any online payment system that you use? I'll see if we can support it or at least manually add you into the system after you pay.

I think there are some talks to be able to mail in your payments too :p. Would something like that help?

Yeah mail would be a massive help.
Unfortunately I don't have any way of paying online at the minute ...I really should though in this day and age:P

    Hi there,

I'm trying to buy advanced membership but when I click Checkout it tells me "There are no available payment methods. Please contact an administrator for assistance".

Is anyone else having this issue?

The store is back online. However, we are having some issues with user ranks. Apparently the system thinks a lot more people are advanced members than there should be :p. I'm going to take a look at this right now. You guys might see your ranks changing a lot. Rest assured, it isn't permanent, and once I am done, things will be back to normal again.

I apologize for all the hurdles that we've had to go through to get this new system online. It's hardly been a smooth transition. I know it's frustrating to have these types of issues come up. We'll be sure to compensate everyone for the trouble once things are back to normal.

I'll keep you all posted on what's going on.

Edit: your user groups should now be as they should be (I hope). For some reason which we aren't quite sure of yet, our new subscription system decided that everyone who had ever purchased advanced membership in the past needed to be advanced member again right now. I've gone through the database to find everyone who is supposed to have an active subscription right now and set their group to advanced member. This should fix the situation for the majority of you.

There is still a possibility that you purchased advanced membership, but have been set back to being regular member. If this is the case, please PM me with the transaction ID for your advanced membership purchase and I will resolve the issue with you.

I want to fix all of the issues that come up so that we can go back to having a stable system once again. I think that most of them are fixed but let's see whether that's actually true or not. Please check your user group to make sure it is correct!

Edit2: we've figured out what caused the problem. I f***ed up :p. Sorry about that guys :(. I've compared a backup of our database to the live version and found 129 members who had the wrong group set on their account. I've fixed the issue in the database and you should all have your correct groups now. Once again, I really apologize for the mixup. Everything should be fine now, though. If it isn't, please PM me and I'll be more than happy to take a look into the situation :).
