Which American accent do you have?
    Neutral
You`re not Northern, Southern, or Western, you`re just plain -American-. Your national identity is more important than your local identity, because you don`t really have a local identity. You might be from the region in that map, which is defined by this kind of accent, but you could easily not be. Or maybe you just moved around a lot growing up.

    Hahaha xD

    My top 3:

German - I can fake one but it's amateur.

Irish - try as hard as I might I can't get this one right

French - I'd actually just like to speak the language instead

Took the quiz, interestingly it told me the exact same thing Scot said:

What American accent do you have?
    Your Result: The Midland

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

I have an English accent, London to be specific. Kind of the ghetto version, although I do try to tone it down with certain people but when I'm with my friends from London I let loose.

I have a room rented in the house of a family where the husband and his eldest son are from Manchester. Their accent is hilarious "munndeh" (monday), "sunndeh" (sunday), "luffleh" (lovely), "munneh" (money), "shuh oop" (shut up) and so on, I couldn't recognize any accent at first but now I do, I can recognize Scottish, Manchester, Newcastle and American which I do thanks to TV series.

PS, I guess within the US theres plenty of accents too but for the moment they all sound similar to me

    What's a London accent?

Is it that one where all the white people try to sound black for some reason? Or that one where they all sing Knees Up Mother Brown and eating jellied eels?

Here's a thought. If anyone wants to actually record a short sentence and 'showcase' their accents, go here and post what you record so we can all marvel at the wondrous worldly sounds :)

I am just picturing pronunciation lessons in elementary school for some of you guys

T: this is very important at the beginning of a word, but if it's at the end just ignore it
A: this is actually an E
I: this letter always has an invisible O in front of it
ER: if at the end of a word, pronounce as "ah"

It's just so much fun listening to you guys talk. That is a great part of why I watch so many of ahh.. YouTube videos :D

Is there anything people want to request that I say? :p

I just don't want to hear you say any of the stereotypical Aussie things. Let's make this real! I will do it in a bit, no idea what I am going to say.

One thing that Kiwi reminded me with her recording is that I am always embarrassed to say people's screen names out loud. Some are obvious but others I have a hard time with and the way I say them in my head sounds soooo awful out loud xD

    Lmao!
I posted it and thought about that afterwards like "I hope it's pronounced stra-tee-gist and not stra-teh-gist" xD

It's sexier the way you say it.

Everyone that I hear say my username, pronounces it as 'strat-ee-gist' when in fact here in Aussie land, it's pronounced 'strat-eh-gist' ;)

And don't worry Nymh, you won't be hearing any 'Crikey' or 'Chuck anutha shrimp on tha bahbie' from me. I hate those stereotypical phrases -_-

i have a relative subtle southern accent on some words.

My dad has a northern accent on some words as well, i.e. root is pronounced as rut, roof a ruff.

    I wouldn't mind having a australian accent.
