Friend of mine just woke me up to bitch about the fact that Fedex destroyed their goods in delivery. I recall having seen a couple videos related to this. After watching them I doubt I'll be using Fedex for any of my deliveries in the future.

These are over the last couple years:

Now I'm sure that not all delivery drivers are as horrible as the people depicted here but still... this is atrocious behavior. Has anyone here ever dealt with any issues likes these?

That being said... UPS isn't any better:

If goods are damaged in transit they should be able to get them replaced at no extra cost.

Yikes. I guess I've been lucky that nothing I've ordered online has been lost, stolen or damaged. Where I work now, and the place before have had UPS/FedEx guys that were nice. Some people know how to act professionally and others just hate their job.

The handful of employees that you interact with can't represent the entire company.

If they toss boxes on the ground in plain sight, what do you think they do in their warehouses, or at the airport?

Well, my packages never come with any damages to them, so I'll assume not a whole lot worse. For me at least.

What can people expect though, no employee is going to take the utmost care for every package, they can't expect to get the jobs done if they do.

My boyfriend is a supervisor for UPS.
He tells me some of the funniest stories about packages being dropped, packages busting open all over the floor,
one time they droped a package and blue stuff leaked out of it an they had to call a hazmat team.

ALL package services do this. You have a quota you have to meet. I think his is 10,000 packages in the 5 hour he gets to work. And if he doesn't meet it, he gets in trouble. So hell yeah hes gonna throw your shit into the trailer as fast as possible. He doesnt intentionally break your stuff out of anger, but he's gotta move fast.

If you dont want to take the risk of your stuff getting damaged, travel to the warehouse they ship from and pick it up yourself. Otherwise, you are taking that risk.

SHIP UPS. HELP FEED MY FAMILY. KTHNX.

Intentionally smashing up parcels, that's just fucked man. It's scary because I use Royal Mail a lot.

Well, maybe it is the responsibility of the sender to be sure everything inside a package is bubble wrapped and padded appropriately for travel. No shit stuff gets banged about. If the fat retarded FEDEX guy isn't doing enough damage, imagine your package falling off conveyor belts, or tumbling from the stack in the back of the truck, with only gravity to blame. DUH. Who the hell has time to treat your package like it contains live puppies? I've unloaded shipments before, and I've done my fair share of tossing boxes about. Get over it.

Amazon is really the only big company I've known to have really good customer service.

No, they're getting paid to work through everything at a decent pace.

I'm a stocker, I do the same thing with groceries, I can't handle everything with care or I'd never get all the new freight in on time.

YOU'LL PUT ELECTRONICS INTO THE SNOW. YOU'LL PUT ELECTRONICS INTO THE SNOW. YOU'LL PUT ELECTRONICS INTO THE SNOW.

Seriously though, people need to get a grip. UPS/Fedex employees aren't being paid to delicately place your packages atop a doily and arrange them in an aesthetically pleasing fashion. This reminds me of the stories my sister tells me from her waitressing experience. No, waiters aren't paid to deal with your shit, put cream in your coffee as you watch, and listen to your rants about tattoos and Jesus.

The thing is, it's not all FedEx workers, it's just those asshole ones that don't care about their job and just do it for the money.

So that gives you a right to completely attack someone else's job? Without his job, or his company, where do you think all your equipment comes from? You have a gunsmith on site? Schweet.
