lol I can understand being strict with UCs, since there's only a limited number of them going around now, but that's it.

I just don't understand why roleplaying/writing and art has become the de facto standard to judge how much you want a pet and how well you will take care of it. Someone with well-dressed pets or highly trained pets and a general account that looks like it's played often would get more points with me than someone who write terrible fanfiction for me to cringe through. :p

If I give away a pet, I'd want it to go to someone who actually wants it as more than just trading fodder, which pretty much rules out the majority of the PC boards. So far, I've given away two, and they're all being well taken care of by their owners who didn't have to write annoying applications or prostrate themselves at my feet. It's just better that way.

    I too love this thread.

I'm one of those people who are very attached to my pets, but in the long run I have realized that applications are the biggest load of crap since JBieb's was farted out of his Mum's frontal fanny.
I've applied for the big cheeses like Draik/UC's and I am terrible at putting stories to paper (/computer) I try to make up for that with decent art, but I still feel that you have to be freakin' Shakespeare and Michaelangelo's lovechild with a wearable closet that rivals that of Miley Cyruses skanky wardrobe to even be CONSIDERED.

So much effort put into a webpage for a bunch of pixels that you most probably wont get is so tiresome :c

There's an awesome comic I'm trying to find. It's taking the piss out of Neopets Apps, but it's a guy in a meeting pitching his verbal application for a car. It's amazing xD

Aaand this is why I don't even bother with PC stuff and adopting pets and all that x3 Like sure, it's great if you're into that kind of thing! Making up novels for your pets and making this huge fancy page with all sorts of great art and stuff. But aaaaaa in my opinion it's all a bit.. over the top x3 Not to mention it's just wasted effort and time if the pet goes to someone else! Unless you just change the pet's name in the app eheheh~

Doesn't help that I'm absolutely terrible at coming up with and writing stories, and don't really want my pets to have a story...

Its seems like no-one on the PC is interested in converted pets anymore, like its a D/UC/K or nothing.
Theres only small amounts of interested for painted pets and its mostly half hearted apps and NMs from what I've seen. And the only reason most people are attracted to D/UC/Ks is so they can be admired by other PCers for having a 'rare' pet, or so they can retrade 4 months later when everyone's forgotten about it.

I find that most of those apps are complete bullshit anyway. My friend adopted out a faerie poogle, and the applicant was like "Oh, she'll never be UFA or UFT...I'll bathe it every day and take it for walks...". The day after she got it, she put her UFT looking for a krawk or something.

    Umm, no.
I have a bunch of draiks, each of them are permanent and one is battle. I find them appealing to look at and I love customizing them. It's not a social thing for a lot of people.

UC's are better artwork, so some people go after that and not the 'omg look at me' appeal.

You'll find the 'look at me' types are the 14yr olds on PC "Rate the pet above yours" threads looking for someone to stroke their egos.
The rest of us want to play neo in peace and not have randoms complimenting their shit constantly.

I'm the queen of getting random neomails from people about my pets and how I have so many. I thank and then block them. I don't go on boards anymore, haven't done in a long time really.

    I found your account :p

Good thing I don't give a shit about UC's then...sounds like a right load of ego boosting bullshit goes on.
I tend to avoid the neo boards like the plague.

The only UC I really love are UC plushie draiks and UC faerie xwees. I would love to get some one day but for right now I'd rather avoid the ego stroking bs.
