I was browsing the neoboards and looking for a pretty UFA neopet. I found two that were up for adoption from the same owner. I sent them a pleasant PM, explaining myself and how they were my favorite colors.
The person sends me a note back pretty much saying "I know this isn't in the rules, but you can only apply for one, it looks horrible if you ask for two and decreases the chances of possible adoption" I just kind of raise an eyebrow at this and calmly state that I named both of the neopets because if one was already chosen for a possible owner, I was also interested in the other one. Once again, the person responds to me in a very stingy/selfish way.

I personally kinda agree with the owner. I wouldn't say it in that way, but I think it's because some people just use the same app for both pets.
Don't take it to personal, Just apply for one and say thanks or something. Usually they open up later why its a pet peeve or something of the sort.
*shrugs* I wish you luck though ^-^ I have no idea why they'd be that upset.

On a different note, its better than having a person be a total snob about an average pet named:twinkles_sparrrrkkkles UFA and you can't use older apps or stuff.

Like when I obtained my 2nd UC (though application), some person yelled at me because I didn't "deserve" 2. That I should have let others have a chance.

Actually I'm not going to lie, I semi get upset when someone applies for a UC they already have. Not pointing out anyone but there's a chick that has like 2 UC fae xwees and is applying for another. Personally I could care less if they were two different ones.
I think it's the idea that people with more UC's have it easier chance to get another. @__@ PC.

What I don't really understand is when people ask how I'll take extremely good care of the pet before they turn me down . I mean, is there some way we can physically or mentally torment our Neopets?

I think the entire application process is ridiculous. First everyone wanted a petpage, then when TNT said no now they just say "Oh well make sure if you do a petpage to put on your petpage that I didn't make you do it" it seems to me like another way for people to get their egos stroked to have people make up fake shit to get a pet.

People were flaming this chick for taking down her Eventide Draik from adoption cause someone "cheated" on the semi-finals of her application process. Apparently, she was butthurt that people didn't read her about me section on her lookup and know her real name. Then some rejected finalist mass neomailed the rest of the applicants to tell them the answer. So she took the draik down, made a board, got majorly flamed.

That was a fun board to be on.

Adoption processes are just... power trips.

I don't get the whole process, what are they trying to do? Find someone that would treat it like a real pet?
I honestly don't care who I give my pets to as long as they're not assholes.

Whenever I go to the PC to give away a pet, people seem so shocked when I tell them I don't want apps, and that whoever says they want it first gets it.

I hate the entire application process. They want you to create your own drawing of the stupid pet. They want a "story" for it. They want to know that you're going to take care of it like it's a Ming vase. Oh please. I agree with the power trip comment. Those people piss the crap out of me. If you're serious about adopting out a pet, just freaking give it to the first active person who wants it.

I bypassed all the adoption bullshit and a lot of the trading too. I hatched and painted all my pets with the exception of one that I traded a 4L RW for a 4L RN and morphed then painted a species I wanted.

I my first UC on the 1st of next month, all because Woug is fucking amazing and can deal with those self-righteous pricks with more patience than I can :3





Oh it get better, I saw one chicks adoption rules that stated she could check in on the pets any time that she wanted, that people weren't allowed to repaint or morph, if they ever decided they didn't want it again then they HAD to NM her and give the pet back.
I posted like "Uhh, once you give it away it's not yours anymore, it's new home not an extension of your account and nothing to do with you"
PC flamed me for it. Fucking retards.

I laugh inwardly when people get all pissy just cause I pound surf and snipe their pet. Clearly they don't read the red bold print "It can be given to anyone" XD

If I ever put a pet up for adoption that people would actually want, I'd probably pick randomly from the first, say, 20 people who say they're interested.

Exactly! I REALLY want to complete my Draik collection and the final colour for me to get is Grey, but I'm poor so I've been looking to adopt one. People want fucking ridiculous amounts of bullshit on a page that they will forget about after it's all over and done with.

I zap a lot of pets on my side account, sometimes I get great species/colour combo's. I pop on to the 'dream pet' boards and gift 'dreamies' without posting. Nobody ever knew I was there, but I made someone happy

I just want a collection of LE pets with my fav style for each. And one battledome pet for plots and such.

I don't even bother with the PC, I just re-pound the pets I've zapped into pretty colors, even though that means anyone under 4 months won't be able to adopt them.

Most of the time I think people just make those boards for attention, and then end up giving the pet to a friend or moving it to a side. I mean, I won't take your pet out for walks every day, 'cause it's just a bunch of fucking pixels. Either give it to me or don't.

And I tell people with that mentality to get over it.
I'm allowed to have as many pets as I want, even if they're all the same color. If the owner decides to give me the pet over everyone else, that's not MY fault. Blame the owner.
Get mad at people for being more partial to those who already have an UC pet, not the people who managed to get them.

XDD Well I personally get annoyed, and hey yes, if you get it you deserve it. I won't tell you to not apply and I never had.(PC lurker ^^) XDD Or the owner can suck balls because it was there pet and have no problems with that. Just stating my opinion. When I adopt out (psh never XD) then I'll do what I want~
I know I'm just saying other people believe that people are partial to other people with UC's XDD I don't think that even matters.

Once I applied for a Darigan Pteri and I wanted that pet so bad I spent hours making an illustration and the petpage html and creating a story for it so everything would look perfect, but I didn't get it because I wasn't fluent at english by that time and the owner said he/she couldn't fully understand what I'd written.

Once I applied for a Darigan Pteri and I wanted that pet so bad I spent hours making an illustration and the petpage html and creating a story for it so everything would look perfect, but I didn't get it because I wasn't fluent at english by that time and the owner said he/she couldn't fully understand what I'd written.

I guess language competence was more important than the time and effort you put into your application (for him/her, anyway). Well, did you end up getting your own Darigan Pteri by now?

I think its more than pixels for some people. Some people get emotionally attached to their pets and they want them to go to an owner who cares about them as much as they do. I dont think applications are selfish, I think they're the only way people know how to see who reeeeeally wants their pet the most. I mean, people can say they really want it and will dedicate time to it, but applications show who is actually willing to dedicate hours writing stories, drawing, or coding for their precious pet/pixels.
Or they're just really bored and looking at applications entertains them. But its their pet, who cares. If it bugs people they shouldn't apply. Anyway, I dont think its selfish for people to be picky about who they give their pets to, I would be too.

Yeah I understand, but I wasn't that bad either lol, for me it wasn't a consistent reason

I did get one later by the lab but it was already converted
